Ward v Beck v Mensah - Where does Mensah Fit in 2026?

I don't care too much about Mensah's individual stats, at the end of the day the game is scoring points.

2024 we were #1 in the country and averaged 42.9 PPG

2025 we were #32 in the country and averaged 30.0 PPG.

IMO those numbers are impacted greatly by the defense each team had. So, while I think the 2026 offense could get close to 2024, it likely won't have to, and as much as we "Let it Rip" at the end of 2025, Mario and Dawson are simply not going to play like Cam played in 2024 if we have big leads in the 2nd half of games and our defense is shutting down the opposing offense.

I think 2026 settles somewhere around 35.0 PPG, which is usually somewhere around 12th in the country. Mensah is closer to Ward than Beck in terms of talent and playmaking ability.
Spot on

**** the team stats we have Top 10 on both sides of the ball barring a lot of injuries

I expect to see Nickel and/or Coleman quite a bit this year

Unfortunately, the defense Cam had was bad, forcing us to play a little more up-tempo, high scoring games than I'm sure Mario prefers. If this defense plays like we expect, I wouldn't expect to see too many shoot outs. That'll hurt his stats.
But with a good defense he gets the ball back more also.. It evens out over course of season..

The flipside of that is Mario doesn't take the foot off the gas anymore. We're bombing away late in the game vs. Pitt and VT for style points. I don't expect that to change.

Last year, we didn’t have the depth at WR to really blow teams out. I always felt we kept Beck on a leash as well. This year, we will have the firepower on offense to light up the scoreboard, paired with one of the best teams in the country. I really think this is the year we start running through the ACC

Our Offense is going to be balanced. So I am thinking maybe close to Beck's numbers.

Either way we should be up by 5 TDs at HT during most of our games.

I think yall over state how much our defense effected our offense in 2024, they would have scored that much regardless because they were that good

This year’s team will most likely get more scoring opportunities because they will force more 3 and outs and get more turnovers, so thats better field position for the offense.

We should be averaging 40 a game

I think he’s gonna have stats similar to Beck but a lot more efficient.

I think Fletcher has the best season by a RB since McGahee. I know OL is new and all that. But Fletcher just seemed to hit something new in the CFP.

I just don’t see us needing Mensah to will us to wins. Until our defense is as bad as it was in ‘24, no QB will replicate what Cam did. I think Beck is the norm under Mario. Maybe some more explosive plays this year. But all in all, I don’t see us sniffing ‘24. It’s just not necessary.

see the comparisons between Ward 2024, Beck 2025 and Mensah 2025. Where does Mensah end up in 2026? Does he reach or surpass Ward's stats? If he's nearer to Beck, it would be disappointing considering that he was better than Beck except for efficiency and sacks.

He is Cam but in structure and less arm talent, but better Deep ball. He's like Beck but Cam if they had a son pause. He rather do things in the pocket like Beck but can escape like Cam. Cam liked to go off structure if he did not see what he liked, this dude here could be the number 1 pick next draft. But when we got Cam in the portal I guaranteed he would be the number 1 pick, I cant guarantee that with Mensah but he could be it is a real possibility we have the number 1 pick again. He has fumbling issues though that is the only weakness I see.

Mensah is a good prospect but he's not a Cam Ward. Carson Beck gets a lot of **** but the game was never to big for him. Mensah really hasn't played in a lot of big time games. We got to see how he performs under real pressure. With Cam and Beck I would feel comfortable going into Notre Dame in a big Top 5 matchup on the road. With Mensah we really haven't seen it yet, he will get it chance though.

Yeah trying to temper my expectations for Mensah when comparing him to Cam. Will say though, Cam didn't play in too many big games while at Wazzu either. Hopefully the lights aren't too bright for Mensah. Thankfully ND isn't until later in the year, hope by then we're just clicking and handle business. Only potentially tough road game in the beginning is at Clemson which he already played at last year and dropped bombs on them mfs lol

They were saying samething about Cam going into UF game.. I remember it clearly too.. Asking him what tough stadiums he has been in and has he played in SEC 100k stadiums :xvfmlqq: :ibis-roflmao-sm3:

Mensah has been in Norman, Death Valley (which we travel too before ND, he also lit them up).. Most competitors like playing on road more anyway..

Cam had #1 pick talent and playmaking ability. I just think it's unfair to expect that from Mensah
