Listen, I know Walton gets a lot of love here, but let's be real: The guy is a marginal RB toating the rock, and he is averageon KO's. He is good in pass protection and he catches the ball out of the backfield, but he's basically giving you nothing..zero..zilch.. running between the tackles. Facts are, he is giving 2.75 YPC and a cloud of dust against teams not named Bethune Cookman, and he doesn't have elite vision, cutback ability of quickness.

Why not see what Gray can do? We KNOW he is dynamic, explosive player with the ball in is hands. Get the talent in the games!

Agreed on kickoffs. I reserve judgment on his RB skills though. Everytime he gets the ball there is a wall of defenders in front of him. You can't do much with that. If we was running behind even last year's line we could have a better idea.

He gets a ton of carries down inside the redzone and at the goal line though. And our offense is atrocious there, and not really an indictment of the running backs but more so the O line and the play calling. We consistently get stuffed inside the redzone/ 10 yd line, so that is dragging his numbers down. It's a fair point though.

yes yes everyone is marginal. Gray is great until it's his turn to be marginal. stop judging the players under this staff

Everyone runs straight into Gall's *** so not sure what we really know about anyone. Worst guard ever.

Walton made a living of making big plays on toss sweeps throughout his high school career, and now this comepinga coach decides to only run him between the tackles and mainly on short yardage situations... The kid looks like he's try to figure out how to be patient and follow his blocks instead of doing what he's always done, make a play

I won't hold judgement against the kid right now. I know he has good hands, he's a fluid runner, and he has vision. He reminds me a lot of Matt Forte (and i'm a true Bears fan). I won't hold judgement on any of these kids, honestly. I feel that w/ the proper staff he can be the next great back here. Honestly.

MAYBE JUST MAYBE IF WE WENT BACK TO RUNNING THE BALL OUT OF THE I FORMATION WITH A LEAD BLOCKER AND TWO TIGHTENDS WE COULD ACTUALLY RUN THE **** BALL.

I know Kehoe is beloved. But everyone complains about the O Line and very few hold Kehoe responsible.

ol hasnt been great and he admits he has had to adjusts to speed of the game and the offense

Walton and Yearby need to run behind a FB. Walton is a stud.

He's a short yardage back at this point.

We had a kid on the roster a few years ago that was a good short yardage back. Kid named Dallas Crawford. What ever happened to him. I sure wish he was still on the roster. We could use a good short yardage back like him now.

See, I disagree with this, because Yearby is averaging 6.3 YPC running behind the EXACT same O-line. That tells me the issue has more to do with Walton's ability to run the ball at an elite level than anything else.

Yearby is doubling up Walton on Yards per carry and the difference I see is quite striking to the naked eye: Yearby has vision, and great cutback ability (plants his foot and goes), and Walton does not. Walton is running into the wall, because (1) he can't see the hole or (2) he is unable cut back quick enough to get to the hole that opens.

I'd really like to see what Gray can do at this point.

I'd hold your judgment on every player until we get rid of our middle school coaching staff.
