Former Miami Hurricanes right-handed pitcher Andrew Walters was called up from Triple-A Columbus by the Cleveland Guardians Thursday.

Walters, who played for Miami from 2021-2023, has posted a 4-0 record with a 2.32 ERA and eight saves in 50 appearances this year. The 6-foot-4, 222-pound hurler has totaled 79 strikeouts over 50 1/3 innings, limiting opposing hitters to a .180 average in his first season of professional baseball.

Posted in a tweet about him in the procanes thread and hoped he’d get called up but figured it was too late. He really just kept figuring out each level really quick.

hopefully he has a few really legit outings and makes their post season roster. I think his stuff could be huge in some high leverage situations.
 
He hasn't given up a hit thru 6 IP - 0.00 ERA, 4 BBs and 6 Ks. Should be on the post-season roster w that stat line.
 
Threw a terrible wild pitch yesterday that allowed the game winning run to score from 2nd base, but other than that has pitched well for the Guardians. Going to the game Wednesday so maybe he'll pitch that night
