Then come out and say that.Without knowing contract details, we could save millions by letting him finish out the season.
I don’t think we gain a ton by firing him now IF the above is true and we can use that money towards a top notch staff.
Univ of Miami does not want the ghettoness of a winning football team.Awww you guys are cute lol…. Expecting your team to do the sensible thing.
Still expecting your favorite program to operate like a big time administration.
You guys know by now that things done around here make very little sense. I know you all want better but the people in charge aren’t in that frame of mind.
If you think Manny’s dad being on the sideline yesterday was coincidence, you’re crazy.
Program is comfortable with “playing hard” and not getting blown out. Losing is fine as long as it an embarrassing lossUniv of Miami does not want the ghettoness of a winning football team.
They are an academic hierarchy, an institution of SUCCESS!
Please refrain from calling them a football school...... Suck My *!**!!
Baylor, Penn State, Houston, and many others are back dominating football, whatever, end of rant.
Too late to end the season strong. That ship sailed last nightYou’re missing the fact that they don’t want to fire him, and hope he ends the season strong. Last thing this admin wants is to fire manny, and then strike out on their top 5 hc wish list, which is very possible, maybe even likely. they especially don’t want to do all this failing while also writing large checks.
You gain some extra money and lower buyout to go all in for a guy..whose not picked by Blake James (the most important part after what he pulled)..firing him now means Blake is still apart of that. Fire Blake. Hire a new AD..let that AD either stick with manny 1 more szn with stipulations ofc..then that AD picks his guy. What am I missing here? At this point, what are the tangible and practical advantages to not firing Manny by Monday afternoon?
There were lots of "logical" arguments before the Noles game to not fire him, but at this point, what am I missing? As far as I can tell, there is literally NOTHING to be gained by not firing him.
What am I missing here?
No coach worth a **** is throwing their hat in as long as Blake is there. Fire both, immediately.I understand Blake needs to go for hiring Manny but Manny needs to be fired now. I’m not concerned about Blake yet. I want coaches truly interested throwing their hats in the ring and some time to start vetting.
If Mario is the guy, I presume there has been plenty of back channel conversations. Driving up the price when Manny is fired, maybe an issue, but also Mario may not want the questions to distract his current job at hand.To save on the buyout as has been reported. Also, and this may be a stretch by me, but it’s the only possible thing I can think of that makes any sense. If Mario really is their guy they’re going to go at full throttle, firing Manny now makes the Miami job officially open and inevitably Mario will be asked questions by Oregon media about his name being associated with the UM job. This puts attention on that and may drive the price up on Mario once Phil Knight starts to open his check book.
He was at the basketball game yesterday. That’s too involved for most at this point. There was plenty of smoke prior to this...we're just waiting for the 5 alarm blaze.
I guess the question is does firing him now vs at end of season do anything more than just quench the blood lust of a rabid fan base? Not really sure it will do anything more than that.
Have you heard from Blake lately? Silence sometimes speaks louder than words.
The AD normally be the guy to fire the HC. Since he is currently MIA and most likely for good, you will probably here about Manny's firing in some kind of joint statement from BOT.
Supposedly they and power brokers are scheduled to meet on 11/18. Would expect something shortly after. That is my best guess.
