Wait..Golden a DC candidate at BC?? lol

Al Golden is probably the biggest name candidate on the coaching market right now, which makes him someone Boston College fans crave. It would be a big splash hire, a guy who would return to being a coordinator after a stint as a high profile head coach. For Eagle fans hoping for proof that Boston College is serious about contending, bringing in Golden would be that signal.

What's not to love about him?

Prolly not a bad fit for that school. Football not a huge priority there. Get to a bowl game and people are satisfied. He's has success in that region before. The system he runs might be better suited for they type of recruits they get at BC.

That was pure comedy. It's clear Dan Rubin either lives under a big rock or did little in the way of research or thinking before writing his article.

Golden is a really good recruiter but the trade off is to huge for my taste. I would not mind a top 30 defense for what Al would bring recruiting wise.

But as we saw with Golden's scheme you will be looking at between 70 and 105 in defense. Not a good trade off.

If he is hired it should only take 3 seasons for him to become unhired...Golden for Brown, is this the best joke of the year.?

Jimbo would love for Golden to go to BC. He's had that defense figured out from day 1, and you know Golden will use his archaic system over there.

"Al Golden runs a 3-4 defense, which means BC would need to change their defensive mindset completely. There's one less attacker on the defensive line, meaning the front seven players need to be bigger and defeat more blockers."

Summary of why Al should never have been here. I hope they hire him. Still can't get Hail Flutie out of my mind. They deserve the smuck. We can call him The Revenge. Plus they are a Jesuit school and I am Marist educated.
