VT Opens as 3 Point Favorite

Yeah the people thinking that this is a lock to be a blowout are slightly delusional.

Va Tech isn't that good #1 and #2 we've got two weeks to prepare.

Wouldn't shock me at all if they rally the troops and they sneak out of Blacksburg with a win.

UNC is almost assuredly an L though.

How many weeks did this braintrust have to prepare for Louisville opening week?

Really? UNC D is God awful. Canes could put up 40 easily on that crappy D!!

Never thought I'd see the day when we were VT's and UVA's baitch. Even the pathetic teams we had back in the '70's were above that.

It just keeps getting worse. What a horror show this program is now.

Have you seen UNCs offense? They will annihilate Dorito.

Louisville had just as much time...there was no competitive advantage.

Didn't we beat UNC on the road last year on a Thursday night? Dude............... "Easy money."

In a game we should have won easy, it came down to the wire. This team has never played even a solid game on road under Golden and we asking for them to go into Blacksburg on a Thursday Night and win. This is an awful VT team but good luck with that one.

I think the question really was "Did we look prepared?"

When have we ever been prepared for a game we should or need to win?

We aren't even competitive against middle of the road ACC teams. I guess beating Duke this year was the exception, but that was at home. No reason to think we won't get shellacked up there.

LOL, of course we did. We both had the same amount of practice time, but Louisville was installing a new defense and offense and a new program overall. And we looked like a bunch of idiots who were playing our first game in a power 5 conference. We're 0-2 in ACC road games this year. Average margin of defeat: 14.5 pts. In our last 5 ACC road games, we're 1-4 with an average margin of defeat of 18.5 pts. There's no reason to assume that we are capable of even competing with an ACC team on the road.

With this staff UM has a 10 to 17 point disadvantage at kickoff. This is a terribly coached team especially on defense. VT wins going away and then drops 2 more ACC games later in the season.

It will be interesting to see how that line moves this week. Vegas has Miami pegged this year. The line always seems to move in the right direction on game week. Duke, GT, Louisville, Nebraska all had opening lines that moved during the week (sometimes significantly) in favor of the winning team.

Miami is now a 3 point favorite. What a crazy swing. Especially since there are not injuries. Can anyone who gambles a lot explain how there could be a 6 point swing without any major injuries?

Huge swing indeed, especially with Miami involved. Vegas money seems to think VT truly is a sh1tty team and Miami is better than they've shown. I think Vegas is wrong this time around.

All the gamblers loaded up on UM so the book had to adjust the line to get some money on VT. VT is really awful. People laying down big bets paid attention to how God awful VT is.

VT got pushed around by a Pitt team that had lost three in a row and got their *** kicked by Akron. There's no confidence in VT.
