Vols Tears

I had heard USC if Tenn doesn't match his number. Its a game of chicken. There's a lot going on and he's not going to be the only guy holding out.

After the house settlement takes affect, future NIL deals are capped at $600. Anything above that has to be approved by the clearinghouse.

If the settlement is approved before the transfer portal opens on 4/16, he can't get more money from anybody. Tenn could wait it out and hope it gets approved.

If the settlement is not approved by the 16th the portal is going to be madness. There's gonna be some big names in the portal.

Guy wants 4 mil when he’s already getting 2 and he ain’t even worth 2. This is hugely selfish and would make me question his character. This is blowing up. I’d say Tennessee needs to cut bait or just flat out say no and play for your 2 mil which was already undoubtedly the highest on the team. But what do I know I’m on the couch writing this

But also I really doubt anyone is going to offer him $4M right now, so UTenn should call his bluff. Most programs already have committed most of their money for the 2025 season. Nobody is just gonna have $4M laying around for an immedystarter.

Respecfully, that is not true for this ONE LAST GO-ROUND. By next year, it will be more of a problem. For right now, it's "use it or lose it" on alum NIL money.

This is the issue with NIL. It's now Almost May and a QB can totally hold his team hostage. Losing your starting QB this late will really hurt a team. The time to do this is in December where you have a lot more time and can have your new QB in for workouts and Spring practice

I told this board a whole while ago to be careful what u ask for w/ zero parameters around NIL or the transfer portal. It needed guidelines, & guardrails. Every sport has guidelines and guardrails.

Unless Oregon, Ohio St, Bama, UGA etc completely lost faith in their QB plan, it's only a major program that actually believes they can compete that would spend that imo. Just don't see anyone doing that at this stage. If I'm UTenn I'm calling his bluff

He already has multiple schools willing to pay him.

The NIL model is the fault of the schools and their leadership. I have zero sympathy for them. The fans are the only ones screwed in this.

I love it. Porsters are only capitalists in the “Off-Topic” & “Town Hall” forums.
