I hate the gayturds with a passion. The only time I have ever rooted for a UiF win was in 2015 when the lizard played UGA. There had been rumblings that UGA boosters were fed up with Richt after losses to Baga and Tennessee (and prior underperforming seasons). I remember thinking that if UiF could beat UGA soundly, Richt might get fired and he might possibly end up at UM. Golden had just been fired, and I wanted a guy who knew UM and had legitimate coaching credentials to come in. Essentially, I wanted Richt here before he was even available. Over Mullen, over Schiano, and over Butch.

I had serious doubts about Richt after the way we finished last year, though I gave him the benefit of the doubt to start the season. After the UVA game I was convinced we needed major changes to the coaching staff around Richt. But somewhere in the midst of bad losses to UVA, BC, and Duke (at home) where we averaged 14 points per game, I was convinced Richt himself was the problem. The game has simply passed him by.

In short, I was wrong to want Richt here. Some UGA fans tried to warn us, but I was among those that ignored them and called those fans unappreciative for Richt salvaging that program from utter irrelevance. But at this point, it should be perfectly clear to every Canes fan that Richt is not the guy.

I bring this up because I was vocally in support of Richt when (and even before) he was hired. But I cannot support what I have seen from this team in the last few months. Unimaginative and predictable playcalling, poor execution, subpar special teams, mishandling of the QB position, mismanagement of the roster, arrogant and out of touch recruiting, frantic and scared promotions of staff, failure to hire an offensive coordinator, and a fractured locker room.

So to paraphrase William Wallace, if you still support Richt then I say you are a slurper. And if you are a Canes' fan, then I am ashamed to call myself one.
Why is it so hard for so many people here to admit when they’re wrong? Good on u.

I don't think he's that wrong. Straight firing Richt is impossible with the funds this athletic department operates.
I wouldn't like Martin, but USC offense was good in 2016/2017, probably a product of having Darnold, and they started a true frosh this year so that are reasons for growing pains. USC had great colleges WR under his watch too.

Coker, Shannon, and Golden were easy targets.

Mark Richt, not so much. He's got a long history of being a generally successful coach. He's Marty Schottenheimer. He's tough to tear down because he's a nice guy thats been pretty successful for a long time at a few stops. But, at the end of his career, you can say - like Schottenheimer - he wasn't all that great and the teams that had him should have moved on sooner than they did.

You either in your heart, know he's a bum, or you're still, even a little bit, riding for him and think he's just a playcaller and OL Coach or whatever away. Basically, if Richt can get out of his own way, maybe he'll still be great.

People right now, are starting to hedge. They know he's not going anywhere. And, if you look at Richt's career he is likely to have a 9-3, 10-2 type of season next year and those calling for his head will dwindle. They don't want to be on what they think is the wrong side of the fence for too long.

Unfortunately, Mark Richt is a bum. He doesn't have the chest to win big in college football. Charmin soft. I don't care how nice he is. I don't care that he's a career 66% win guy. I'll stay on this side of the fence. He's Marty Schottenheimer. Even down to his fatal flaw...a trash, ever-archaic offensive scheme.

If we hire Tee Martin, my SC homies are going to blow up my phone to laugh at me all season. SC fans absolutely hate Tee Martin. Y hire someone who’s been fired due to performance? Oh wait.....

Laid the gauntlet. Good self-awareness and post.

He is not a master or expert of any one facet of college football. He is not intelligent because intelligence doesn’t dwindle it only gets more refined with experience which develops wisdom. Virtue is formed by great Habits, habit is formed by repetition so what has Richt been practicing when his habits are so inept but he views them as virtuous?

Richt is a bum that has skated on people’s perceptions of him being a great guy and someone they’d like to see succeed and lead them to the promise land. Imagine checking your bank account and seeing millions based on that...people’s perceptions.

What happened to this guy?

A really smart voice during the Golden years, he’s now saying he doesn’t think Richt deserves to be fired and advocating for Tee Martin as OC.
It's an opinion. Doesn't have to agree with you. If you read him all the tine he's balanced and not overreactive

We can win about 9 games in 2019 if Jarren is the truth, the juniors stick around, and Richt brings in a competent OC.

Vish's resume has earned him a pass here, imo.

As was mentioned, the first opinions were just based in advocating realistic (based on what UM/Rick will actually demand/do) expectations/desires.

The Tee Martin stuff can just be assigned to a desperation that we're all feeling. I highly doubt that he'd be anywhere near Vish's top choice.

Aight, I'm done playing defense though. If he ever tweets about the potential upside of a Mike Bobo hire then burn his house down. I'd offer Mike Bibby the job before Bobo.

Yeah, I openly supported Richt when he was hired. Even though there were Johnny Rebel " red and grey flags " enveloping him. But in the infamous words of Robby Duran... NO MAS, NO MAS, NO MAS.:zczkqmritjdsoaq.jpg: Because the conference season and that embarrassing NO SHOW by Miami Thursday past was the absolute Coup de Grace. hUh.

Dreamer, dreamer!!!!!!!!!!!! I'd respect you if you would've touted " 8-4. " Because that's CEILING for next season's Cane team. No ifs, buts or whatever.

He soldout. He's also pushing for Tee Martin as OC. The dude needs to be taken out to the pasture with his boy Mork

Everybody has an opinion and is entitled to it. Vishnu has his reasons and rationale. He’s somebody that should probably be listened to.
