Virginia v Syracuse Game Thread

Many posters seem to forget that we too have been garbage….

Last week:
- special teams: garbage
- offense: garbage

Both have first time head coaches. I'm not surprised at all. We should count both games as double digit wins.

UVA has unathletic size, which normally got us. They always "Wisconsined" us to death and then pop a seam over the middle with a huge TE every year making the game tougher than it should be. They will try it again.

VT is severely undersized on the DLine. The tackles are averaging 6' 285-290. DEs are not even G5 world-beaters. The way teams have steamrolled them on the ground both Old Dominion and WVU is no fluke.

We should roll both those games just by rotating DL as we have been, and running the football.

They are paying way to much for these coaches to not figure it out or make adjustments as trash as the costal is this year. With the defense we have this year if we lose more then 2 more Gattis won't be here next year but how much will it really change if this is Mario's kinda offense?

Air Raid passing concepts are a QB’s best friend.
TVD is currently having the same problem.
its a simpler offense from route concepts for WRs to reads by the QB. Armstrong is exactly having the same issues. its hard to transition completely to a complicated O in one offseason. it should always be done incrementally imo. give them bits and pieces at a time to work in

One thing that I'll always be baffled by is how so many players have zero situational awareness, the RB from Cuse stepping out of bounds, could have cost them the game.

It’s gotta be that kids these days are spending too much time on their phones.

Before phones, there was probably 100% more attention to detail being practiced and it translated to the field.

Today, it seems like half of these players have their heads up their asses making stupid play after stupid play.

That was a hard game to watch!

I don’t know. Running along the sidelines is way harder than it looks. I got dizzy trying to do it when I played in HS and sandlot football in/after college. I saw Amari Cooper go out and come back in taking away a huge gain in the NFL game. I can’t put that on the Syracuse RB.

Agree with the point that attention to detail is an issue with the Gem Z kids and probably related to electronics.
