Virginia Tech's Last possession speaks volumes

Our kids were playing with the same intensity from the first snap to last snap. Fuentes was responsible for getting the **** beat out of his QB by not throwing in the towel.

I am still confused as to why he was allowing that to happen. Were they going to score a 19 point TD?

Coaches have gotten used to defenses playing soft when they know the game is over and just allowing the offense to punch in a meaningless score. Looks like our defense wasn't playing that ****.

So Fuente wanted to make the score/result closer on paper. In exchange for useless points he risked an injury to his QB (who already was raped).

Seriously. Fuente should apologize to his QB.

wimbush should watch himself.

jackson was JACKED UP all night long

that trent harris hit after the pick was the exclamation point

also garvin smacking jackson's hand on the strip sack, and jackson writhing in pain

that was a lot of force, surprised he didn't mess up the dude's throwing arm

After years and years of watching us lose games in the fourth quarter - that crap mindset is over.

Diaz coaching that last series with two middle fingers in the air.

That series had an early 2000's feel to it. Game well in had, but defensive pride to not give up any easy bull**** late.

We're close, fellas. We're close.

Diaz continuing to blitz that mf'er on the final drive was a thing of beauty. No quarter given.

Even Herbie and Fowler were laughing in admiration.

Herbie started to mention Carter clapping for the lateral on the return too before he got distracted by Redwine writing on the white board. This defense is playing like defenses in our heyday. They're hungry for defensive TDs. Not just turnovers.

They were close a couple times Saturday. I'd love to finally take one of those picks or fumbles to the house against ND.

About the character and toughness of this defense and our squad overall. We were up 28-10 with under 4 minutes to go and everyone knew the game was in hand and that a VT score was basically meaningless. Well, meaningless to some teams but not this one. Our defense relentlessly pounded the hokies and was absolutely determined not to let them score. Even with 2 pass interference, a face mask on 4th down and a roughing the passer penalty along with the 4 free 1st downs the hokies were awarded this defense refused to let them score.

You could sense during that last series that it wasn't about the game or the score anymore. It was personal. It was man vs man for prides sake and we wouldn't budge. The last play of the series, the end zone interception by Redwine had a very distinctive " ***** You!" Feel to it. That was impressive. That was Hurricane Football. Loved that series, love the game, love this defense and this entire team. Everyone of those kids made us proud Saturday night. This is what we have been missing for far too long. It's so awesome to see Miami Football coming back!

this is what you do if the other team is still attempting to score on you.

The way they played defense was a nod to the past greatness and was the reason I became a fan back in the day....

4th qtr QB ratings for UM opponents have to be among the lowest in the country this year...
