Sorry brother....but you play to win. Every year in every sport a team surprises and overachieves...our window to be that team was winning out and beating Clemson.

The way things are going in the ACC that might not even be enough. Getting to the playoffs helps national perception and helps in recruiting. Kids are fickle and front runners.

Right, but running the table gets us up to the point where beating Clemson probably propels us into the #4 spot.

It's meaningless talk anyway. We really aren't a playoff team. But it would be nice to see how high we can get.

We follow for this **** for that purpose and that hope. Sorry but this line of reasoning is garbage. Teams with less talent than us have done bigger things, in all sports.

This VT loss is bad for us no matter how you slice it.

I clearly mean in the future - that's the situation Clemson are in. They're so good they could play in any conference and be in contention for the Playoffs.

We're at least a season away from being there - maybe two if we don't get the Oline sorted out quickly.

Rooting for other ACC teams is such a beta mentality. Back when we were winning national titles in the Big East, the rest of the conference often sucked. Did it matter? No. Put your ACC pom poms down and be happy VT lost to some scrub team.

That's great, but in the meantime we needed V Tech to be as highly ranked as possible when we played them to take the stench off that LSU *** whipping. Unfortunately, perception matters in college football.

You are correct, but the narrative has already been set: The ACC is weak this year. Voters and CFB world have already made their minds up so it really doesn't matter that much about VT. They see it as the 'Clemson and nothing else' conference.

And don't lose your &hit when Clemson drops one unexpectedly this year, too.

I will say it until everyone get it. No magic coaching can win you titles. It takes top notch recruiting class stacked on each other. 2 elite ones and maybe 2 good to great ones where there are not glaring holes in your depth chart. Period.
