Virginia and Louisville Lost đź‘€

Head to head, then common opponent percentage, need Louisville to lose to clemson
How would head to head matter if you have 5 teams with 2 losses? Do they look at the w-l of only the games these two loss teams played against another 2 loss team?

Whether Miami makes it in the ACC CG or not may not matter for the CFP. If Miami is #16 when the polls come out, wins out, and 5 teams ahead of them lose over the next 3 weeks, Miami is ranked #11. That might get us in.
seems we will need to get to #10 in CFP poll by Championship Week

ACC champ (not us) will likely be ranked below us at that point (provided GT loses to UGA) are the 11th team to get in

G5 champ the 12th team and 12-seed

guys, don’t do this to yourselves. We will not be ACCCG hunting nor should we. Just win out with some style and beat a ranked Pitt team.

At this point, you want teams ahead of us losing. Give me chaos

I never got this one. Can someone explain what “doing this to myself” is? I’m going to watch Miami’s games and hope they win, like I’ve done for 40 years. I’m going to watch team ahead of them’s games and hope they lose, like I’ve done for 40 years. Are people out there putting up their kids for collateral on Charlotte hotel rooms or something? What exactly are we doing? Turning on a game and saying “Hey, would be cool if SMU loses this one” ?
The ******* horror!!

Relax. It’s the people building up scenarios for us to make the ACCCG…not us watching Miami and cheering for a win.

People are just miserable and want everyone else to give up on the season. We get 12 games to enjoy each year — I’m going to watch all 12. If people want to do other things, that’s fine. But If Miami even has a chance to make it into the postseason, I’m going to root for that outcome.

I still don’t get it. Are they jeopardizing their jobs or families by “building up scenarios”? Do they actually build them? Like outside? Or do they look at a standings page while they take a ****?

Regardless, I’m not going to argue with you. I’ll take your advice and not do something to myself, whatever that means. I’ll just live in a cave before and after the games the next week and not pay any attention to other games.

The ACCCG shouldn’t even be in the conversation.

We have to finish 10-2. That’s given. But there is a better chance of moving up to #10 than there is of us getting to the ACCCG.

When you go from 50/1 to 15/1 overnight, it should definitely be in the conversation.

But you’re right we still have a much better shot of an at-large bid than the ACC. For now.

You got some issues this morning bro haha

Just looking at teams that could or likely will lose in front of us should we win out... GT, Texas, Oklahoma, Vanda, etc. Miami could finish ranked as high as #9.
I don't understand why Vandy is ahead of us now. If we both win out and don't make our conference CG it would make even less sense.

I should have been a little more specific that’s my bad …I’m talking about making the playoffs ..the ACC title game is a little harder to accomplish at this point ..But we just need to keep winning for any of this to happen

Literally yes. Miami was 50/1 to win the ACC this week. That number will be much better tomorrow.

I don’t think we got much (any?) help for an at-large bid tonight. But we got both results we were looking for in the ACC. Only thing better would’ve been if BC upset SMU.
I would think this would help us with getting an at-large bid more than an ACCCG appearance because it seems as though we’re going to have a cluster**** of ACC teams tied for 2nd or maybe even first with 1-2 conference losses but I don’t even know anymore. Nothing makes sense in CFB. Every time I look at the rankings and see Vanderbilt ahead of us and several other teams I just want to throw my phone, a chair, and a table across the ocean because…I’ll just stop there lol

I guess I'm in the minority - I don't give af about the playoffs, we're clearly not good enough to win the whole ******* thing.

I'm desperate to win the ACC though - which obviously we won't have a chance to this year.
