Locked in as a starter, but they're probably still working to see which pairing of 5 is best. Which might just be more of Cantwell at Tackle being better than Cantwell at guard maybe...

Tackle Competition: Samson, McCoy, Cantwell .... Then Wilkerson/Meriweather
Guard Competition: Congdon, Cantwell, Buchanan, SJ, and probably Meriweather
Center: Rodriguez. Backup maybe a competition between SJ, Buchanan, and then Woodrow
Has anyone met SJ in person lately? UM lists him at 6’2” which unless he had a growth spurt, (possible) he’s closer to 6’0”. I met him last year and 6’0” was the ceiling, maybe 5’11”. Either way, does this dude have brute strength, leverage, great technique to hold up inside? Seems small to me and a risk at OG.

Why not? When did Mark Fletcher become a 1st round pick or high draft prospect? Pretty confident Pringle will end up with easily a higher YPC average over his career.
Mark Fletcher performed his best and was far and away the most impactful player aside from Malachi on offense against the most elite teams we faced. I love Pringle as a talent and his potential is thru the roof but as of right now today he is not the best RB on the roster until proven otherwise. Mark is just a more complete back at this point in time.

Fam this is exactly why I think Pringle is the guy and why I keep saying pull the tape. If you do watch the tape what you'll notice very quickly is Pringle is actually our best RB up the A gap running DUO. He doesn't win with size, he wins with vision, staying small, and quickness. People just keep assuming Pringle is not a good inside runner. Totally false. This is why I am saying he's the best RB on the team. For our scheme it's pretty **** dangerous to have a 10.4 RB who is actually a really good vertical inside runner in our DUO scheme. Perfect fit.

If Fletcher keeps killing it out of pistol then he will have something to say about that comment in 2026. And to be clear I hope he takes his game to yet another level and proves me wrong. This to me isn't about winning an argument or predicting something correctly. I want Fletcher to prove me wrong and end up in the NFL a rich man.
So Fletcher absolutely balls out against elite competiton yet he needs to show you more but pringle does well against the Syracuses and NC states of the world and your'e convinced he's the best RB on the roster? lol im sorry but thats peak CIS right there

He is about 6’0-6’1. So his height makes him a risk? And from all the reports I seen he is strong and athletic

'Pringle may be the best runner between the two but that doesn't make him the best back. pass protection is the biggest issue with him. dawson needs to figure **** out with that he's even capable of that.
The new RB coach was saying they can help him out whith some techniques for smaller guys. Coach wasn't a big RB himself so he likely has something to teach.

Full respect to Fletcher. Some of you have some serious orange and green color glasses here. Nobody rates Fletcher as an elite RB fam. He's never been up to that level. He's good and I'm glad to have him but he may find it hard at the next level. Damien Martinez was far better than Fletcher in 2024 and he can't make a NFL team. So we need to be real here. If we are kind to Mark and say he's now up to Martinez level in 2026, we still need better. The last NFL level guys we've had at RB were Homer, Dallas, Duke, and Miller. We need better. So yeah I still don't understand why it's so controversial to say Pringle is better. He's likely going to prove it pretty quickly in 2026. I am hopeful Mallory is better than Fletcher too. We need to raise the RB room talent. We've got depth but still lack a true elite player.

Mark Fletcher is seen as one of the best backs in the country let alone on Miamis roster lol stop it fam

It's a light year for RB and he's like 5th or 6th down the order. That's mostly due to his playoff performance, which during the season he was only 3rd team All-ACC. The A&M game was definitely the best game of his career but he hasn't been that player 99% of his career. He misses a lot of holes. He finally started seeing the holes Pringle saw when they used Fletcher out of pistol. The timing finally clicked for him. He's going to have to pick it up in a big way to raise his draft stock. We need the A&M game on a consistent basis.

I don't think he's better than Martinez who can't make a NFL team. That's just reality.

At guard? Yes. Extreme outlier
It is but it has happened. Shaq mason was 6’1 and he was 2 time all acc at GT and was a 4th round pick. He played 9 years in the league too. Then you just had Willie lampkin who is 5’11 was just one of the best guards in cfb. All American and 4 time all conference player and 2 of those was in the acc too

Well that's your opinion, the rest of us know how good Fletcher will be in big games when we lean on him. Saying we need him to do what he did against A&M on a consistent basis is wild work. No we don't need him to rush for 170+ consistently to be successful, as long as he is breaking tackles, hitting the right holes, and continuing to pass block at a high level he will be more then fine..

BTW the only ACC RB I MIGHT take over Fletcher is Isaac Brown, That's it.

You have had some **** poor takes in this thread…including this one where you actually aren’t completely wrong. Fabian Upshaw indeed wasn’t a big RB himself…

Becuase dude was not even a running back. Ha. He was a QB.

Again I think Fletcher is going to be very good in 2026. He's just not an elite player. NFL backs are very obvious. We haven't had one in a long time.

Thanks for the correction. I forgot about that. I have absolutely no problem with admitting when I am wrong. I won't be wrong about Pringle tho. Mallory could end up the best tho.

Fletcher is an NFL back, not saying he is Gibbs or Bijan robinson but i'm confident he can carve out a role at the next level....there's nothing more left to say then just "We'll See".....
