Had four top 15 defenses at OU.

This guy has spent nearly a decade with Dabo building that recruiting juggernaut and dominating on the field.

He’s either a pedophile or has no ambition because the opportunities should be there for a guy like him.

If we were going to go defensive coordinator with no head coaching experience, it would’ve been nice for us to make Venables say no.

1. Southern
2. Psycho
3. Elite X and Os guy
4. Part of elite recruiting program
5. Knows the bag empire
6. Long track record of success
7. Right hand man to one of the best in CFB
8. Has seen a top program run for almost 10 years

So how the **** is Clemson keeping all their coaches for so many years despite great success?

He didn't campaign for the Penn State job when it opened, so he must just have no interest in being a head coach.

Tua exposed, and their offensive scheme didn't help! That fake field goal and Tua running on forth down by the goal was 2 of the worse calls all night! And there could be a lot more!
The fake FG that early was so dumb. Take the 3 points that early on. The Tua run was also stupid. You have big running backs. Run one of them in the spot that Dexter Lawrence should have been in.

No knock on Supermeng Diaz, but I was hoping Venables would have been on the short list of HC candidates after Rick retired. He is in that "innovator" category that I want to see in a coach. Would have been electric.

They asked him about this a while ago. He basically said he’s content where he is and doing he’s doing. Also I believe both his sons are on the team too. A while back he said if he was going to take any HC gig it would been the Kansas state gig after Snyder retired. The fact that his name didn’t come up as a candidate after Snyder retired this year pretty much gives you an indication. He’s the second highest assistant paid wise in College. It’s nkt a question of can he. It would bet he can. It just seems like he has no desire to be a HC and that’s fine. He may not want to deal with the hassle of running a whole op. If that’s the case, Dabo has him one. Another question is how does Clemson keep all this coaches vs Bama. In hearing how that players talk and the “family atmosphere” that’s been created, it just seems like Clemson has found a blueprint on how to keep their elite workers happy and content vs Bama seemingly “endless grind, sweat and grit” model. Those coaches can’t wait to learn as much as they need to learn from Saban and get the **** away from his ***.

On top of that his salary was raised this past Feb to 2 million. a year. Clemson willing to pay to keep top.coaches.

I guess he just doesn’t want to be a head coach. Seems like he could have his pick of jobs if he wanted but he remains a DC year after year.

He doesn't want to be a head coach, but honestly who can blame him...

He makes over $2M and lives in cheap *** SC.
He doesn't have to do press, suck off boosters, do a tv call in show, or any of the other tedious BS.
He gets to coach his kid.
He doesn't have to take the heat of being a HC.

I wasn't impressed by him at Oklahoma. It's the talent on that field that makes him so impressive

Idk about that chief. I can’t attest for his OU days but what I can say is I saw one coach that thoroughly out coached another. His defense was better prepared for the O than the other way around. Saban’s DC Tosh 2.0 is no where near the level of Venables and it showed. Yes, having the players matter but both sides had the players last night. For a long time now, Venables has been one of the elite DC’s in college.

Some guys just don't want to be a HC.

I'll post this here again for the CIS mongoloids that don't understand why Venables isn't going anywhere:

Venables’s oldest son is a freshman Linebacker for Clemson and his next oldest son joins the team next season. He has the unique opportunity to be coaching college football AND watching his sons play AND keeping the entire family together in a nice place to live all while getting paid $2M per year.

He’s not going anywhere and it’s not just the money. It’s EVERYTHING.

I demand Venables prove to me personally that he's not a major alcoholic in the league of Bud Foster or I'm going to continue to call malarkey on his eschewing of head coaching opportunities. And let me tell you something friends, he does not want that.

I have to say, that Corner Blitz off motion was f*cking great. Tua just assumed he was gonna man him up, never saw him coming and took a shot. I want to see that next year at Miami.
