Venables breaks down how he prepared for our offense

You're probably right, proper and detailed preparation means little......
detail is good but lets not act like he was doing this his whole career, in college u need the ballers up front to do what they do. U need 1st round NFl talent to do what they do

Dude has been doing this for YEARSSSS, if people really go thru clemson commit list they just started going 5 star heavy recently, they evaluate and develop their guys.. A guy like Isaiah Simmons was not 5 star guy but was a monster for them..
I think hes good but by himself at a school as HC he has to recruit. Also I have to add he has way better players on defense then we have on offense so that matchup will be easy for him. Hes good no doubt but it wasn't hard for him to stop our Offense with what he has there already

im not syaing he isnt good again the dude is a top HC candidate for a good *** while hes elite, but he didnt need a wizard to fuq our offense up when there DL can maul our OL

Earlier in the week some porster was complaining that Dabo and Saban are the highest paid coaches, and that Miami can’t compete.

While I’m not sure about what a month from now holds after this election, we’re still a capitalistic society and you get paid when you’re at the top.

This brilliant DC is just one of hundreds of reasons why Dabo gets that big pay day. He put the program pieces together to become relevant and a consistent contender for National titles. Aside fro Saban, who else deserves to get paid like that?

Neither of those guys could come here and work miracles - it’s a process. Most of the younger guys see through rose colored glasses and never see that the swag was always secondary to buying in, razor focus, doing their job and taking care of business. NCAA sanctions and Admin/regents haven't been much help either.

Diaz has mentioned multiple times over the years of prepping for teams over the summer. This isn't uncommon. Brent is the best DC in college ball right now. It is what it is....Beat Pitt.

Why is Etienne catching passes 5 yards behind the scrimmage wide open on 3rd and 14 and easily picks up then?
I wasn't commenting on Miami's defense. Merely pointing out he's the best in the game.

You can also hear Manny mention Etienne catching the ball on 3rd down specifically after the game more than once. He knows they got smoked.

In his last interview someone asked him at 6:35 mark (should be cued up) what he did to get a handle on Miami offense and how commentators spoke about they seemed to be preparing for weeks.. He touches on how help staff (which clemson has huge amount of additional staff) broke down Deriq king at houston, Lashlee, Mentions leach and how he worked with him and knows air raid then goes into how he watches everyone to see what new things he can learn.. Thought it was interesting best guy n biz does that to improve his scheme, what is baker doing in offseason?

Again question is at 6:35 mark

Baker is too busy picking popcorn kernels out of his second chin.

He played the same defense versus borrow and he got torched because they had dogs at Wide receiver that beat that press coverage and Borrow knew how to throw that back shoulder and receivers when up and high pointed the ball in the air.. we gotta find playmakers in this team and give them Playing time!
LSU had all 1st round draft picks at the skill positions and a good OL. Miami has zero 1st round picks on offense and a mediocre OL. You’re talking night and day.

After the game does us no good.. We were outclassed. Its embarrasing guys were pointing it out on message board before the game but manny/baker only realized after that #9 is best in country.. smfh.. those type of comments really frustrate me and show we have lower level corching

Our fans using this as an indictment of Baker are silly....

He already bad enough on his own and needs no further evidence lol.

Now regarding BV....ppl forget that his defense was 55th in the National the year he bolted from OU.

Bottom line is this..BV is a great DC. But great players have a lot ...a lot to do with it.

This is my thing Baker n Miami played safe didnt play to win on def. Soft A.. coverages cover 2 not enough man and they the screen game which once was a corner stone for miami against us. We don't need a new Def coordinator he just has to change up his scheme and will be fine. I think clemson was a big learning experience for him. Now watch sat you will see something totally different. Well lets hope lol.

Not defending them but his comments were specific as it was the main concern. Not the first time we've been outcoached.

we got the money we just scared

They have top 10 talent
He's a great DC (see: Oklahoma defense after his departure)
He has a **** of a support staff around him to compile film, cut ups, tendencies etc
= Top 5 defense.
He has people playing like top 10 talent. They weren't top 10 when they were recruited. It's been only recently their recruiting makes you think that.

There's something to be said about development and putting them into a scheme to succeed. They'll play "quick and clean" if they know what they have to do.

This board sucks off every **** coach

Venables wasn't that hot at OU

One of the notable takeaways from our own Bill Connelly’s review and updating of previous years’ S&P+ rankings is how much stronger the Big 12 has looked on reflection. The 2011 rankings revealed an absolutely loaded B12 slate in a year that was notable for RG3 winning the Heisman trophy for Baylor and Mike Gundy’s Oklahoma State winning the league thanks in no small part to the performance of Biletnikoff winner Justin Blackmon. It was the first year of round robin play with no title game. Nebraska and Colorado had both just split for the Big 10 and Pac-12 respectively and the overall results of the season in the new-look league were fairly jarring for everyone.

At the time, the emergence of non-OU/Texas powers within the league was shocking. Baylor defeated Oklahoma for the first time in their program’s history in 2011, Texas Tech went on the road to Norman and ended a 39-game home winning streak for the Sooners, and then Bob Stoops’ program took a rare L in a Bedlam game/de-facto Big 12 title game against Oklahoma State.

The big takeaway from this season in Oklahoma was that things needed to change. The defense needed to simplify and Brent Venables clearly needed some help if he was going to allow teams like OSU, Tech, and Baylor to drop 40 points and come out with victories. As it happened, the DC who’d helped Bob Stoops and Brent Venables establish the Sooners’ initial, championship-winning defense back in 2000 was available. Mike Stoops had just been fired from Arizona and he was brought back to Norman to take over while Venables was knocked back down to “co-coordinator.” Venables then unsurprisingly left and was made sole coordinator at Clemson, we’re all well aware of how that’s gone.
