In his last interview someone asked him at 6:35 mark (should be cued up) what he did to get a handle on Miami offense and how commentators spoke about they seemed to be preparing for weeks.. He touches on how help staff (which clemson has huge amount of additional staff) broke down Deriq king at houston, Lashlee, Mentions leach and how he worked with him and knows air raid then goes into how he watches everyone to see what new things he can learn.. Thought it was interesting best guy n biz does that to improve his scheme, what is baker doing in offseason?

Again question is at 6:35 mark

What a fluff answer... “we prepared by studying film”... took him 4 minutes to get that across. Then he has the gall to say that his guys played “clean”... and it’s been discussed at length that his guys had multiple uncalled penalties (holding, blocks in the back, targeting) but were favored by the refs. The real answer is “we loaded the box and felt our cornerbacks were superior to their receivers”...

Wait....do you mean like over 10 years ago when the Big 12 was about playing defense? How about we go look at the players that were on his Top 10 D and then determine. I bet you'd be surprised

2007, OSU vs Texas Tech, 49-45. You mean THAT defensive type struggle?

Venables plays 3D chess while Baker is skilled at checkers. Against elite teams the defense will always get exposed because Baker is not good enough to adequately gameplan, prepare players, or call the right plays during the game. Against mediocre teams on our schedule he’s adequate. For Miami to compete with tier 1 programs like Clemson, Alabama and OSU, Baker, Patke, and Rumph need to be fired. If our goal is to be competitive with tier 2 teams in our division then all three are serviceable. The reasons for the humiliation against Clemson goes way beyond player talent and depth. Coaches failures had much more to do with it.

Big 12 was spread 10 years ago as well. Texas vs USC was 2006 and Texas ran spread then as well. You gotta go back 20 years for Big 12 defense (Nebraska years).

He played the same defense versus borrow and he got torched because they had dogs at Wide receiver that beat that press coverage and Borrow knew how to throw that back shoulder and receivers when up and high pointed the ball in the air.. we gotta find playmakers in this team and give them Playing time!
