I can’t seem to get over how these assclowns continue to be pampered and overhyped by the CFP and E$ECPN talking dopes despite having two losses and beating absolutely no one in the realm of respectability. We all know there’s an SEC bias but this is bias on steroids. These bums got plowed by Alabama and Texas (don’t let the final score fool you) and are likely going to sneak into an at-large CFP spot with only 3-4 weeks to go. Why? Because last night they barely beat a coach-less 4-5 Auburn team in OT and will move up a bunch of spots because of it.

If we beat NC State next week in OT, does anyone think we’d be jumping any teams? If anything they might move us back a spot or two. One of our esteemed E$ECPN commentators Louis Riddick said last night how we need to beat everyone on our remaining schedule by 30+ points in order to be considered for an at-large playoff bid. His SEC vibrating butt plug was giving him a special tickle as he constantly criticized us and our 2 “terrible no good very bad losses”. **** him and all these other E$ECPN douche bags.

Now back to Vanderbilt. The most frustrating part might be the fact that these E$ECPN simping simpletons have the audacity to claim there’s no $EC bias of any kind. We can point to a number of overhyped $EC Good Ole Boy programs currently occupying Top 10-15 rankings who are over ranked like Texas, Oklahoma, even Ole Miss and Alabama but Vanderbilt is historic $EC simping amongst the likes we’ve never seen. No one they’ve beaten is currently ranked. They have 2 losses, one of those being a blowout loss to another 2 loss Texas, yet somehow, someway, week in week out, they occupy a Top 10-15 spot in the rankings. I really want to hear an explanation from the E$ECPN simping simpletons. What’s their argument? Why do they sit ahead of several 1-2 loss teams with far better resumes and yes that includes Miami who has 2 wins over 2 currently ranked teams (USF will be back in the Top 25). Because they lost 2 games to Alabama and Texas? Since when do we rank teams based on how good their losses are? Have they actually watched Vanderbilt play? I have and they routinely and physically get pushed around by weaker competition. Nothing about them screams playoff team other than the $EC patch they wear on their uniforms.

I don't understand why they are ahead of us right now. If there is a scenario in which:
-we both win out
-neither of us play in conference CG
-ND & USF are playoff teams
And Vandy gets the the last at large bid and we are left out it would be the crime of the century.

If this unlikely scenario occurs, I will gladly supply torches and pitchforks to every member of this board as we march to CFP headquarters (wherever that is) and demand answers.

Wait till you see UGA get in at the #12 spot with 3 losses. You must be new here lol.
That’s another overrated $EC team. I watched them struggle in their FCS game against Austin Peay. Was a 2 score game heading into the 4th. Kirby had to talk up how good The Governors were in the postgame as damage control. They’re currently 6-4 and are a middle of the road FCS program right beside 5-5 Bethune Cookman.

I will admit Georgia has been playing better lately but this certainly isn’t 2021-2023 Georgia.

It will be Texas
They are already setting it up. I heard some talking heads discuss that if they split the UGA/TAMU games then that means they beat one of them on the road and since that’s such a “good win”, that could slide them in as a 3 loss team.

You have them losing to Texas and GT? Or bama again in SECCG?
They’ll beat Texas and hopefully end their ridiculous and absurd playoff hopes for good, but I wouldn’t be shocked to see Texas drop only 3-4 spots because the super duper big bad $EC is just sooooooooooooooooooooo big and bad

I can't believe you are surprised by this. While I agree with virtually every aspect of your post, The ACC doesn't have a leg to stand on because they lose too many games in out of conference play. The ACC was dominated by the BIG12 for ***** sake. Its a terrible look and thats why everyone clowns on the conference. Everyone knows that Miami is the only team in ACC that has the talent to beat anyone because they proved it. Its why its so maddening how mistake prone the offense is. this team can beat anyone in the country and its just ridiculous they are going to miss the playoff again.

Non conference they beat:
FCS Charleston Southern
1-8 Georgia State
from the G5
5-4 Utah State from the G5
3-6 Virginia Tech

In the SEC they beat:
5-4 LSU
4-6 Auburn
in OT
3-6 uSC. Vandy knocked Sellers out in the 2nd quarter of a 14-7 game, after a targeting call that lead to an ejection
6-3 Missouri. Vandy knocked out Missouri's starting QB with 11 minutes left in the 3rd quarter of a 3-3 game. Vandy won by 7.

They lost conference games to:
Alabama, who beat them by 16.
Texas, who beat them by 3 after Vandy scored in garbage time to make it look closer than it was.

The committee needs to explain the love affair.

Personally I would put in 2 Big12 teams before I would put in a second from the ACC

You aren't impressed with Texas?!

Non conference:
#1 OSU (L)
2-7 UTEP from the G5 (W)
3-6 San Jose State from the G5 (W)
1-8 Sam Houston State from the G5 (W)

Texas dropped out of the polls entirely after losing to 3-6 UF.

They got back in at #22 a week later with a 4-2 record after beating Oklahoma.

Since then they've moved up 11 spots for beating:
4-5 Kentucky 16-13 in OT
5-5 Mississippi State in OT
8-2 Vanderbilt, which I posted about above

Is that not the resume of the #11 team in the country???

Vandy is Cinderella, with an exciting QB & playing in the big bad SEC. So much of the rankings are tied to marketing & perception. Could argue 2-3 teams sit atop the class & everyone else is jockeying & lobbying for a seat at the table.

Vanderbilt gets the benefit of being the underdog.

They were terrible for so long, that now that they're actually good they get more credit than they deserve.

Vanderbilt as a program doesn't really care about Football to the same degree as most Football schools, so the fact that they're even above .500 is looked at as a major success for them. They're an academics/Baseball school first & foremost, all success from any of their other sports programs is just a cherry on top.

As far as their ranking, well it's very simple; ESPN is the proprietary lead of College Football, even though all the networks share, ESPN runs the show.

They rank SEC teams higher because it creates more weekly ranked matchups, which increases viewrship ratings, which increases revenue.
