Van Dyke provides window into the future at Paradise, prepares for the Opening

Sounds like he looked great in AM session but lackluster in the PM portion. Guy is an A+ pocket passer it seems

@Roman Marciante who’s your NFL comparison for Van Dyke?

I am not one typically one for NFL comparisons. But I'll play along. (Matocha reminds me of a Romo type btw) TVD is a big armed kid with some athleticism and a big frame who will play in the 235-240 range when I think he is done. Ultimately a pretty repeatable deliver of the football. I don't know, I am actually pretty bad with this sort of thing. But Andy Dalton-esque. Final answer.

This is *not* our rankings of the QBs tonight, that article is coming later via Charles Power. This is how the QBs stacked up per the grading system Barton was using that essentially boils the pro day session into accuracy and doesn't account for feet, arm talent, and other more subjective factors.

Stroud

King

Young

Richardson

Dyke

Doty

Card

Beck

Morris

Maiava

Garbers

Criswell

Bailey

Finley

Dekkers

Greene

Sims

Ashord

Van Dyke "

So looks like he had a good early morning session and didn’t do as well in the pro simiulation event tonight. I’d say he comes out stronger than tonight in the rest of the coming days

Kaaya was a statue in the pocket too which was the reason he slipped so far in draft/ fell off Sr year. QBs gotta have a little sauce with their wheels anymore. Based off this and the tape I’ve seen I’m not overly impressed/enthusiastic. I’m expecting a few downvotes because if you don’t covet commits as a messiah thats how it goes around here, but I’ll save my final judgement when he’s rockin’ a U on his helmet.

What about a Ben Roethlisberger as a comparison?

He scored 2nd highest in his group of 5 QBs tonight. 247 ranking him last must not be giving credit for balls that should have been caught. Missed on a few throws but most had strong velocity.

those awful receivers didn't do his score any favors. Dropped balls left and right that were in their hands.

Kaaya left school early. That’s why he fell off.

John Kitna Body carson palmer arm/accuracy with joe flacco deceptive athleticsm 🤷

He had a few missed throws but man that was a bunch of drops from receivers...

Those receivers were downright terrible. 6 dropped passes I counted in that short video that hit receivers’ hands. Not gonna say he was perfect but wow those receivers were awful.
