I know a booster of our told some of us, including cmar, on signing day that year that Peterson's father sat down with him during a breakfast and said his son want going anywhere until "some green hit his palm." So money played a big role.
I got drunk with a big time UGA booster a few years ago, who had no issues after he got lit blabbing about how much money he and his buddies were dropping to get kids to UGA. Basically said it was a never ending arms race with Tenn, UF, LSU, Bama, and also said Clemson was always trying to buy top GA kids. Every huge program has these guys, but the SEC seems to breed them like no where else. If youve spent time in the South you know EXACTLy what Im talking about. Kind of fat, loud, good old boy, Rolex, polo shirt, the shorts with the boat shoes with no socks. The UGA/UT/BAMA/AU, etc Hat on. Big sunburnt neck and forearms from playing golf all the time. But cats want to act like this is more rare than Haley's Comet.
