This is mostly in the house as the senators are generally pretty moderate on both sides of the aisle. The progressives have a much larger stranglehold on the dems than any far right group has on the reps.

Just as that poster was crazy to say what he did, so are the posters who regularly use "leftists" as derogatory, or call democrats, liberals, etc as communists etc. It happens in the media as well. So many media and politicians who routinely have no issue calling others communist and worse were crying about "semi fascist" comment.

I don't really care about most of those. I'm not fond of the broad brush, but most are fairly harmless.
right winger/left winger
capitalist/socialist
conservative/liberal

These are all basically descriptive of ideology and aren't generally demeaning. When they get turned into insults, it becomes an issue.
