VA Tech

I have watched VT a decent amount and they're not terrible but neither is USF. If VT and USF played tomorrow it would be a battle. For this game to be close we would have to really sh*t the bed with penalties and turnovers *and* the zebras would have to get into the act. So all possible, but if we play relatively clean and protect Cam I think we're in good shape.

We've won 5 out of the last 6 meetings.

They are dog****.

They were down to Rutgers at 23-7 in the 3rd.

So far they've been a 1-2 Marshall team and an 0-3 Old Dominion team.

17 isn't a big enough spread. Hammer UM to cover.

Drones is not as good as Brown and Mertz imo.

**** em.

I would be surprised if we don’t win but 17+. I don’t see VT scoring more than 20 and we are going to score at minimum 35.

Spin this game any way. No way the canes lose the first conference game especially after what we’ve seen so far. Doesn’t matter if it’s a one point game. It’s the W we want.

What their fans are saying:

Jeez....I mean thats a group of writers who think very highly of us...

Even when they tried to poke holes in Miami they couldnt really find much.

I would be surprised if we scored less than 40 and I just can't see VT's offense scoring any where close to that.

It seems as if they think their only hope is for Mario to do a shtty job preparing and coaching
his team.
I do think they will give us a better game than USF.
It's the only argument anyone has anymore. It breaks down to two things, and every fanbase supporting a team that has played us or is going to play us is saying this:
  1. *Makes wild gestures to last twenty years* as if that matters worth a **** for this year.

  2. "Mario is a CoRcH and he'll blow a game at some point." Hasn't blown anything yet, and we've yet to be in a position where that matters. Also, people treat Mario as if he's one of the worst coaches in CFB. He's not an elite gameday coach at all, GT proved that last year, but he's nowhere near as bad as people pretend he is.
The key point here is that no one is actually making an argument on how they beat us on the field. It's all old assumptions and plain unadulterated coping. That's why I was so convinced we'd go into the swamp and beat Florida's *** to start the season. No one ever made a reasonable argument on how they'd beat us. They just pounded their chest screaming "SWAMP SWAMP SWAMP" and "Mario is a corch."

I got bad news for the CFB world. When you hit the jackpot with your QB, have talent at all the skill positions, and elite lines on both sides of the ball, a HCs gameday decisions are typically less impactful.

Pate says Canes cover. His model has us -21. Starts at 53:24. He picked us as a best bet too

While VaTech may have comparable talent to USF, I think VaTech lacks the heart and hustle shown by USF.

VT fans I work with and some I know from college are all begging for a Clemson-Miami 2015 type beat down to possibly get Pry fired.

A big cyber security contractor that I work with that donates 6 figures per year to VT said there's a big group ready to push the AD to pull the plug and need Miami to win by 40+ he thinks is the magic number. Only like $7-8M is what he told me.

Then about 15 min ago reminding me of the exact same situation in 2019 with VT at 2-2 barely beating Furman and getting blown out by Duke the previous 2 weeks and wanting Miami to end the Fuente era... then VT goes into Miami with RS freshman Hendon Hooker in his first career start and beats us 42-35 and kicks off a 6-1 run that saved his job and eventually lead to 2 more years of Fuente.

If we had the same numbers and same record with Emory as our qb the thought process is different. But when you have a guy spinning it and is the heisman front runner it just doesn’t seem possible to get the upset
