VA Tech

I always worry about it. You've gotta go out and play the game.

I feel confident the Hokies are walking into a hornets nest Friday. Their offense has been bad and they are very mistake prone. Drones has been terrible and has already taken a beating in 4 games because they really can't scheme anything up other than QBruns. Can't imagine this will be a get right game for him. Believe he is the worst rated passer in the conference

any idea on why the line has shifted so much in 1 day?

mario's comments about rivers and bain?

My guess is that seeing what we did to USF, VT may try to be the team attempting to slow us down, make us try to drive the field and make drive-stalling mistakes. Keep the game low scoring, be within striking distance in the 4th.

Isn’t their qb nursing an injury sustained last game? I mean looks like the guy we just faced. Could run but can’t throw. And I heard their OL sucks too.

Yep, Drone got banged up. You couldn't tell if the injury was effecting him cause he has taken a step back this season

The only way they could slow us down is to drop 8 and if they did we’d run all day. That may keep the score lower, but it won’t save them.
Their best bet is Cam has a really, really off night.

that's literally what every team tries to do every game

The only thing that’ll stop the Canes Friday night will be a storm forcing rescheduling the game.

Weather permitting….

Canes 45, VagTech 13

I'm not worried about VT. I see it being much less competitive than the USF game.

I think VT presents a better defense than usf and perhaps uf. They have a LB named Antwan Ryland-Powell who had 18 tackles vs Rutgers plus has 6 sacks this season and their CBs have played well thus far. Rutgers didn't bother to challenge them much (otoh, maybe because their LBS couldn't cover anyone). I also learned via VT podcast that Kaleb Spencer (transfer from UM) had the highest PFF rating vs Rutgers.

I don't see how anyone could have any concerns playing VT.

Even if we're off, we will 99% score more points than they will.

I have ZERO concerns that our team will outright be beaten by teams like VT, CAL, FSU...

Its more likely that we lose to MTSU a few years ago, than we lose to these teams this year.

We could easily have some closer games, but this Offense will always score points, and this Defense will always play tight.

We're winning.

I might be wrong. They might give us a good game. I can't figure out for the life of me why they were picked preseason as one of the ACC dark horses. They were a below average team last year and have looked below average so far this year. I don't remember them doing anything in the offseason to improve their team that much to where they should preseason fringe top 25. The only thing I can think of is that their schedule is even easier than ours. They play nobody outside of us and Clemson.

Yeap, and they beat up Tulane in a bowl game where they were missing their head coach, QB1, QB2 (injured during game) plus several other starters. Nonetheless, they somehow find ways to hang with us.

Do you think that Mario wants to allow Vag Tech to get closer to his Canes than they did to Greg Schiano’s Rutgers’ squad did last week? Especially after losing to Rutgers in the Bowl Game?

Bullsh*t: we’re blowing the Turkeys out.

They finished the 2023 season on a strong note, winning 5 out of 7 games, the only losses to a good Louisville and NC State team. While I may think they are just an average team, we certainly don't want to overlook them and not take them seriously.

Saturday thought me that this team, is gonna score 30 points. It’s guaranteed. VT ain’t gonna make enough stops to keep it close. Let alone win. We are a legitimate 6 deep between WRs and TEs.

Also IIRC, didn’t Pry make some smart *** comment about Mario and Miami when he got hired? Yea, Mario is dropping 50 on them.
