Actually, I’m trying to remember the last time Mack dropped an opening game. And that’s usually because his Longhorns would open up against such powerhouses as Pug State or University of East Anchorage. It turns out that the only time he lost an opener was in 1999 against what turned out to be a 6-6 NC State. His Longhorns finished 9-5 that year.
 
As a Cane living in VA, hard to root for Tech but I have to admit, that game was fun to watch. Textbook schadenfreude watching Ol’ Mac looking flummoxed.
 
Year 3 of Mac and his recruits are now stepping on the field...

All those guys last year were not guys he recruited.

Yet he somehow managed to lose 5 games at UNC every year and go 2-10 against FSU and Virginia Tech while coaching here.

Wow, he had ONE season where he did something. Someone call the CFB HOF and get him his plaque. I know riding Butch's jock is a pastime for our fans, but Mack managed to cash in on his shot, Butch didn't. There's a reason why Mack has more 10 win seasons at UNC ALONE than Butch has in his entire career.

One season??...while being slammed by NCAA Sanctions??...and STILL created the GOAT team under those sanctions....Lol....Butch's UNC team would have Curbstomped any Brown UNC team...This site wouldn't exist without what Butch created....Take 31 Schollies from Brown, with no TV or bowl for a yr and see how Good Brown does....
