That would be the smart play.

Miami hasn’t proven it can run the ball to win a game.

If I’m a coach I play zone and 2 high. Can Miami run all night to win? Rivers might not be playing still and Dawson likes to run HB dive over and over and over again. Run game has been putrid. That’s how I would defend Miami.

No, I’m not comparing TVD and Cam. I’m discussing that the rushing defense stats can be irrelevant if you don’t execute and take advantage of it…
 
Our offense is rolling but it is interesting to me that dawson is saying teams are “obsessed” with stopping the run, people saying teams are stacking the box

If u don’t want teams to stack the box shouldnt u stop bringing extras(wrs/tes) to the box? And when u do u probably shouldn’t just line up and run into the crowd most of the time u should find a way to create a numbers advantage so u get bigger gains

44% of our rushing yards have come in the 4th qtr. Some here will tell you that is a good thing. Even though our 3rd and 4th RB account for over 80 percent of the production.

Pointing out things we can improve on while we are playing well shouldn’t be looked at as negative but thats how it is on here.

We don’t know how to handle success as a fanbase yet lol

Yes, actually. Thing is, our coaches are doing what they should do. Teams have been stacking the box, and we've been throwing the ball more because of it. We'd be idiots to say, "We gonna run the ball into a stacked line just to prove we can!" No.

The first team that tries to take away our pass game and plays deep is the first team we rush for 300+ on. Good Os take what the D gives, with ease. We have a good O.
 
This may be the best team va tech sees this year. If they think this is last years team they’re in for a rude awakening. Yea ****can happen but I like our chances tonight.

Have yet to see any evidence to support this stance, but you are free to believe it. Season is young, still plenty of time to improve.

Yeah, improving on the most points scored through 4 games is a must if we're going to compete for anything meaningful.
