this. there are posters who keep trying to keep hope alive and its stupid. hes going to ND. there wasnt any buzz of him coming here after he committed to ND.
Seriously...why in the **** do you attribute this to "posters who keep trying to keep hope alive"?
And why do you care? Mario recruits. It's up to him to determine the interest level of recruits. "Buzz" is just a silly word for porsters on the board repeating inaccurate interwebz reporting.
**** "buzz". Were our coaches talking to this recruit? Yes. And that's all that matters. Not "buzz".
Here is reality. Until a recruit ENROLLS, it is perfectly legitimate to contact him. And Fields is NOT yet enrolled anywhere. So why are we basing whether to "keep hope alive" on silly things like "buzz"?
This is a player that Miami would like to add to the roster and who would fill a need. This reminds me (not perfectly, just follow the metaphor) about how most Miami porsters told us to forget about Cam Ward, how he had "declared for the draft" and how we should extinguish "hope". What ended up happening there?
I have no idea what the ultiimate outcome will be. But I know that Mario doesn't give up hope. So maybe let's allow a world where those of us who know that Mario never gives up...can simply talk about certain recruits, even if there is only a 5% chance of success. And for those CIS posters who have fragile emotions, and who can't cope with keeping slim hopes alive, they can choose to avoid these threads. After all, the name of the recruit is usually in the subject line.
Posters who choose to surrender hope when the chances of success drop below 40% should avoid these threads. Even if there is recent activity. For all they know, we could be discussing brisket or bourbon.
Move along. Those who think Malachi Fields is a Notre Dame lock don't have to open the thread.
Simple solution, solves all problems, and the porsters who need 100% certainty will be able to protect their fragile feelings.
