Did this for the VT game too,
interesting to see where we are statistically going into the games so some of our over-reaction/under-reactions can have some depth
plays per game
UVA: 75
Miami:70
Yards Per Play
UVA: 4.8 (109th)
Miami: 6.3 (22nd) <-- same as it was before the vt and nd games..which is impressive
Redzone Scoring
UVA: 80.77% (90th)
Miami: 93.1% (11th)
3rd down conversion %
UVA: 41% (47th in the country)
Miami: 29.4% (125th in the country)
^interesting note here, we are among nation leaders in getting first downs on 1st and 2nd downs...which may make this stat less meaningful, idk
Rushing yards per attempt
UVA: 3.6 (107th)
MIami: 4.9 (34th)
Kicking
UVA: 89% (don't plan on a miss against us...still)
Miami: 80%
Offensive play breakdown
UVA: 43% rushing 57% passing (MOAR interceptions)
Miami: 52% passing 48% rushing
Time of Possession
UVA: 32:00
Miami: 27:00
Allowed Sacks
UVA: 2.10/game (78th)
Miami: 1.67/game (46th)
Total Yards per game
UVA: 369 (98th)
Miami: 439 (42nd)
DEFENSE
Opponents Yards per play
UVA: 5.3 (48th)
Miami: 4.4 (8th) <--- same as it was before VT and ND which is crazy
Total Defensive yards allowed per game
UVA: 373.4 (43rd)
Miami: 358.6 (33rd)
Opponents completion %
UVA: 53.5% (12th)
Miami: 49.82% (3rd)
Opponent's 3rd down conversion %
UVA: 33% (30th)
Miami: 38% (58th)
Tackles For Loss
UVA: 5.6 (77th)
Miami: 8.86/game (2nd to northern illinois (1st if you remove FCS opponents fwiw)
Sacks
UVA: 2.4 (40th)
Miami: 3.67 (2nd to clemson)
Turnover Margin
UVA: +3 (43rd)
Miami: +15 (2nd)
Defensive Passing Efficiency
UVA: 30th
Miami: 4th
Scoring Defense
UVA: 26.7 (67th)
Miami: 16.7 (10th)
prognosis:
not looking good for virginia, think we cover here. we've been against better defenses and performed better. Would expect us to do better than our seasonal averages
what is crazy is that the offense and specifically the Defense have gotten better significantly better over the course of the season as the schedule has gotten tougher
if we were playing at this level during the Toledo and Bethune games we would be top 5-10 in every statistical category i'm certain of it
regardless, we're coming together at the right time and our remaining opponents(including clemson's shaky Offense) all look beatable
also if we have two dominant defensive performances (approx 250 yards or less for each UVA and PITT) we would probably finish top 20 in defensive yardage which is what some people harp on
