USF QB Spy?????

He's not a spotty passer, he's a BAD passer. He misses open receivers and gets passes tipped more often than you'd like. He's a very physical, very strong runner, but not a burner

I would spy him on 3rd and medium (4-7), but otherwise play zone like you said

I'd also add that we have to take away the free access throw as that seems to be something he hits fairly well
I personally don’t like spying and taking guys out of coverage . Odds are if the qb is agile they’ll win the 1 v 1. I’ve seen so many spies be wasted. of late so I’m just like f it . Keep gap integrity , stay in lanes and squeeze them. If you’re in zone it’s like having a spy anyways. Twenty two eyes on the qb. Or just bring a lb and off the edge forcing him to the left . That worked with Travis a couple years ago.

He averaged under 2 yards a carry on 14 carries against us last year. He’s a big guy that can run between the tackles but he’s not a Lamar Jackson who can just run away from linebackers. He’s also not a guy who throws on the run. If he trucks it, he’s taking off.

Does Miami ever 'spy' these types of QBs? Seems like these types of QBs have burned the Canes forever. Even CJ Carr had some success two weeks ago. Focus on keeping Brown in the pocket and bouncing outside.

Score early and often and make USF play from behind.

I think we're a bad matchup for them. We can control the LOS and although the qb has wheels he is 1 dimensional, allowing Hetherman to queue on his weakness passing. We just gotta be ready for trick plays and that crazy fast tempo they will play with. Ultimately, our talent will overwhelm them but we gotta come out sharp early and kill their hope.

Can you man up the CBs and play zone for the LB/SS/N as midfield containment, mixed with pressure from one of those guys?

Just run zone and keep eyes on him. Squeeze him in the pocket and make him pick you apart. He's still a spotty passer
Our front four can squeeze the pocket. You're right.

Just standard 3 deep with rotating who takes thirds haut to mix it up.

I can see Heathermen tasking Lightfoot as the spy for Brown. Kid is fast, tough and alot of range.

Mario mentioned he 6'5 230 and one of the fastest LBs......this gave me the notion he can be the spy.
I like Pruitt for this one, but lightfoot needs to play a lot too

We have the best edge player in America, grown *** men across the entire defensive line, linebackers who can really run and one of the best corner rooms in America.

We’re a bad matchup for everyone.

Send 6 every play... Make him beat you throwing the fumble. Nothing fancy 5 DL and a LB every play.
