USchool kids

Grace is already at 210, how do you think he tops out at 220? Kid hasn't even made it into the program yet, he's got a long wirery frame that can handle some weight IMO. Tend to agree that you take Moore regardless, but remember it was going to be a small class and the coaches had to prioritize offers.[/QUOTE]

He's kind of narrow shouldered...those guys tend to have problems packing alot of weight..
-Listen im a BIG Grace fan as i live / grew up in Miramar and seen all of their kids play since optomist....

read my post on Moore..i'm all the way bias on the kid....BUt film doesnt lie...kid can play (they knew it)...BUT they didnt wanna scare away the chance with BIG 6 as they had Grace int he bag already...and they new a offer to skai would of ended with a rather quick verbal commitment.....it kind of backfired as the late offer thing was actually too late and he got an offer from a nice to good program where he can probably excel.

I dont see how Moore didnt "wow" some of you guys in their big games dude always made the most plays....against the team from Ohio he was all over the field....he's just a steady player....

I just still if i was the recruiting coordinator would of paired Grace with Moore regardless of what Thomas was doing...you cant have to many athletic guys that can run and cover int his day and age with spread offenses...6'2 210-215 guys are now prototype..load up on them and do work.

Now look at this yrs lb class in so.fla....its down right not that good...your looking at lbs that are 195-200 pds...and now were going to have to step out of s.fla to recruit lbs which isnt a given...when you could have just been stable with a group of Moore AND Grace redshirting one of the two.

U School has had many players look much better than they actually play. Yeargin fits that stereotype so far.

Also agree with Swagger in regards to Skai. His highlight tape was underwhelming. In person however, he always made plays.

Point is none of their guys have been slam dunks. Either ballers who lacked some of the physical skill you desire (Skai, Kings), or good looking athletes who don't seem to carry it over to the field.

I do believe Scarlett breaks that mold.

agree on the uschool thing..as that is usually the case with small school prospects....

If i was recruiting i only offer small school guys that DOMINATE. U schoolis freakin LOADED against teh teams they play against..so it skews how good some of their guys actually are. But they still have good prospects and its still a school i would be all over in the coming years.

But back to it small school guys have to dominate for me...

Rashwn Scott he technically wasnt a sleeper...that kid dominated the small school ball he played. - Posted 845 receiving yards, rushed for 945 yards, and threw for 565 yards accounting for 31 total touchdowns as senior ... Had three interceptions and returned two fumbles for touchdowns as safety

Raysawn Jenkins same thing.....

Then you have guys like Sean Taylor who we knew what he did playing small school ball...unreal stuff.

Scarlett is next up on the list.

A **** shame what happened to Skai. I used to watch his games up in the stands with his Mama.

That boy hit like a bass drum. He used to pop them pads so hard you would've sworn a redcoat just shot off a round from his musket.

Scarlett HAS been offered.

Yeargin will probably get offered at camp. And, again, Wilson WILL NOT BE OFFERED, OR BE IN THIS CLASS. I've heard this from MULTIPLE sources, including Pete Ariz. I cannot be more emphatic on this point.

/begin rant

Also, which USchool kids did you really want over kids who we went hard after or ended up signing? Did you really want Jordan Cunningham over Stacy Coley? Did you really want Skai Moore over Jermaine Grace AND/OR Matthew Thomas (I'm talking about through recruiting, not revisionist history because Thomas didn't come to the U)? Were you REALLY that high on Maquedis Bain that this is a point of contention, especially with the players we have committed along the offensive line for 2014? And please, PLEASE GOD, don't come at me with Denver Kirkland as emblematic of all that ails us in recruiting. I will fight you over that. The ONE player I will say I wanted, regardless of outside factors, was Alex Collins. ONE.

ONE.

I mean, come on people. Seriously. There are approximately 457,000 HS football players in South Florida. They will not all get offers, and all those that get offers won't end up as Canes. Stop this nonsense.

/end rant

Let me say that unless Miami actually could land one of those out of state 5 star cornerbacks then not offering Quincy is a joke.... unless he is a headcase or something. It's like deja vu all over again w/ this staff. They are going to spend the entire year stroking off Nigel Patten then he is going to end up at FSU like the Matthew Thomas situation.... when we could have had Skai Moore and Quincy Wilson. and YES both of those 2 are better then nothing at all.

To answer your question about Skai Moore... his recruitment had nothing to do w/ taking him over Grace or Thomas b/c he was offered a scholarship, THE NIGHT BEFORE SIGINING DAY before Golden new what Thomas was going to do. Which is embarrassing and a **** up on Golden's part. If you look at the joke on defense that is our depth then offering Skai Moore should've never been that difficult to do. Golden talks about recruiting kids w/ character but then plays Skai Moore to the left while Gionni Paul, EJ, and Terry all get offers in a second.... smh.

I'm not sure if Bain was really interested in going to UM but if he was I would've taken him in a heartbeat instead of continuing to recruit that joke Keith Bryant after he decommitted. Even Deadrin Senat, somebody, ****.

Again, you're missing the point.

Would you have wanted us to recruit Skai Moore INSTEAD OF Thomas and/or Grace? Obviously, getting something rather than nothing is cool, but it's revisionist history. You can't look at the result and then say "well, you know what, I really wanted us to go after (insert player here) instead of (insert player here who he lost)". That's illogical.

As for the Wilson kid, Golden and the staff simply don't like him at corner. What's so hard to comprehend? He's not getting offered, unless he opens his mind to playing Safety.

I know HOW the Skai Moore thing went, but that's not the point. You can talk all you want about All needing to recruit the players he's going after better, but all of a sudden saying that we should have NOT PURSUED MATTHEW THOMAS is idiotic. How do you think we're going to get back to winning championships if we don't even recruit or offer the top prospects from South Florida? What? Are we SERIOUS with this?

I know we were all hurt by losing Thomas, Collins, Kirkland, and Robinson, but let's be real, please.

I mean, seriously.

It is genuinely too late for Wilson already even if the staff didnt think he was stiff and slow. He wouldn't come here. It's obvious they don't like him as a prospect

I liked Moore a lot and thought he should've been in this class, and in any other year he likely would have been, seemed Golden had a magic number he didn't want to surpass.

there are not many fans that understand the decisions that had to be made, if skai was offered early then he commits and grace was going to commit early so what does that leave us? not even taking a shot at thomas and not recruiting a 5 star recruit from YOUR OWN CITY is blasphemous and cause for termination, i would like to see some people reaction if we stopped trying for thomas they would be the same people calling golden an idiot

I also like that the same people who get ****ed when we don't have a backup plan get mad when we try to hip pocket someone. It is absolutely absurd to me that we are still debating whether or not Golden can bring talent in to this program at any position except DTackle...he has landed a legitimate STUD at every other position, and in most cases multiple, since he has been here.

And that is WITH NCAA cloud and mediocre on field product, I might add.

Of course you recruit Matthew Thomas just about harder then any other recruit in the country last year that's not what i'm saying at all.... i dont understand why you think Matthew Thomas having to be recruited had anything to do w/ Skai Moore. If it's a numbers thing then why give Moore an offer the night before NSD??? Why does Ryheem Lockley get an offer before Skai Moore and that's not a diss i'm just wondering how the staff comes up w/ decisions on who to recruit b/c right now it looks as if Golden and his staff are quick to push aside a pleyer from University school.

Maybe they just like Lockley better. Crazy right?

yet they still offered skai.

It was a f*ck up on their part......could care less how guys are tryna justify goldens decision. It would of been justified had they never gone with the late offer.

Matt Thomas didnt even want to take a dang official visit....( i wrote him off then)...the problem is we didnt even "recruit" skai.....they thought they could do what they did to get Blue...and it didnt work. Even light recruitment would of been enough to pull a kid...a few phone calls ...an official cisit (didnt have to offer on he visit)...but to just throw out a b.s day before offer..lol.....

Its in the past now..but that was a blunder to me....i dont like our depth or overall talent at lb without ej or terry on the roster....an i ake skai moore over a blue, armbrister, cornelius every day of the week. Again this yrs lb class is weak in fla...and the big dogs have already committed to fsu and other programs....Good luck..we will have to go oos to replenish our lb core.

USchool schedule this year according to SFHSports
KOC: HOMESTEAD (6a)
1. Taravella (8a)
2. NORLAND (6a)
3. CYPRESS BAY (8a)
4. Somerset (4a)
5. BOYD ANDERSON (7a)
6. North Broward (4a)
7. GLADES CENTRAL (4a)
8. MANATEE (7a)
9. Island Coast (6a)
10. MIAMI CENTRAL (6a)
Playoffs they will play BOOKER T WASHINGTON

Definitely not a cake schedule by any means. Just cause they are a small school doesnt mean they play against small schools

It's way too early to call the u school prospects busts. The most talented ones will be freshman this year or enter their senior year of high school (& Scarlett 2015 + Sam Bruce 2016). The ones entering their soph year can't really be judged off of one college season too. I don't really believe in grouping kids because of what school they go to, every prospect is different

It is telling, however, that despite limited space and Thomas still being in play they took Lockley's commitment, and only offered Moore the night before. Listen, I like Skai too but maybe the staff didn't think as highly of him as we do...they probably had him on the same level as a Jawand Blue type.
