USCe OT Josiah Thompson visiting

I'm literally saying It makes sense as a guy intending to RS and then start the following year to try to rehab his draftability after 2 bad seasons who is built great and has athleticism.

But IF he's going to be paid a lot, the expectation that comes with that is obviously to start. period.
if he didnt rs as a 275 true freshman he aint transferring anywhere to rs.

He's 6'7 300 now and isnt 20 years old yet. We can put 10 pds for sure on him with good snc and this kid is going to look alot different.

LT ON MOST OF THIS FILM.

Yeah I'm not questioning his size/athleticism, more the fact he allows pressure like its his job, and probably doesn't push the pile in the run.

Even if bell stays there is no experience at tackle especially if they keep pancake at guard and plan on trying to get cantwell ready to start

We got Markel Bell to play with decent pad level and feet. That kid is 6'9 and his frame is everything but a low pad level and good feet.

We can do it all at this point at the O-Line. And that's not a knock on Bell. He had a development I never saw coming.

i know its highlights but watch the film i posted its something to work with. He moves well...i think he is growing to the adjustment of the weight gain.
Like their Center is in the portal too, and is coming off a ****** year but was good when he played at Western Kentucky. And he's 6'3" 310lbs and pretty sure a good athlete...
Like how much stock are we really putting into it was a south carolina problem? Cause I'd say we have a big need at center if anything and there are about no centers in the portal.

The Michigan Guard is in portal and he has center experience as he was their starting center in the bowl game

I have been wrong before guys. So please don’t sue me. I don’t think bell is leaving
... And I seriously don't think it's the plan whatsoever to have Cantwell not start.
I mean maybe there could be a rotation, but even then this dude has played LT the entire time...

If this dude actually wants to be drafted highly, I could absolutely see him basically taking a Redshirt and being the LT next year. And we use swing tackles - or at least did a lot last year, not as much this year.

yea the center worries me especially since the michigan went back to michigan i thought he would be a target since he is a florida kid.

hes an interior Lineman i wouldnt mind but not a center.

Thinking outside of the box these were 2 lineman i liked since last off szn.

National Champion, RT. I would ask if he would be willing to give another position a shot to improve draft grade. Kid looks like a TE he is so lean and fit. Projects to the interior at next level..

The 6-foot-5, 300-pound offensive lineman has now started 29 games in a row as the SDSU left tackle. Use to play TE.

If Bell left, Cantwell should be LT, McCoy or Kinsler should prob be RT and the loser of that comp is RG with Samson at LG.
Again, my problem would be getting this guy, it'd be paying him and expecting him to be starter. I just don't see it. When you have an elite player who starts 2 years, they generally don't suck if they're actually good players.

But hey maybe South Carolina is just that terribly coached or Sellers just ****ed over his Olineman that much. Regardless though his pass blocking grades aren't the only thing that's bad....

What I will agree is he's likely very obviously the best Athleticsm+Build among OTs in the portal.
Cantwell is not a LT he is a RT. Not saying he can’t become one, but he doesn’t have the feet for the left right now.

Cantwell will play he makes too much bt he will be on the right side. Hes gonna challenge over their for RT job.

Elaborate. I am curious how you came up with that.
I do t think he is athletic enough yet to be the guy at LT. he played very week completion and he will need some time to adjust to the speed of the game. I’m not saying he can never be that guy, I just don’t think he is ready. But RT is a very important position and he will be the perfect replacement for CiCi if he can beat out Kessler.

But how can he play RT then? He shouldn't play tackle at all if the athletic ability and the feet don't make it work. There's no difference, the steps are plainly mirrored.

What his footwork. I don’t think he is ready yet to be the guy at LT.
Not sure he’s ready for RT either. His pass blocking is atrocious and it’s takes more than an offseason to go from bad to even decent. wouldn’t trust him on the edge 1 on 1 against any DE in year 1. Not opposed to letting him play guard for a year until he gets acclimated and transition to tackle.
