USA Today takes an elephant sized dump on ND

this. i actually think ND got hosed bc i think theyd smoke bama.

Bama should have been the team that got left out. its a joke they didnt make it and you can thank the devotion to the machine for this bull****. they should have been lower than miami for ***** sake as the lowest at large seed for having 3 losses and getting blown out twice.

I hope we get to knock out two SEC teams. I can’t see ou/bama getting past Indiana and Texas Tech/Oregon.

Yeah but for TV dollars the CFP should only make one selection show on Sunday. Same way with FSU, they lose Travis yet the committee keeps them at the same ranking because they kept winning, albeit ugly, then they win the ACC ship in a super ugly game and now the committee says we consider the QB's injury, fine but drop them weeks before, they legit try and hope the team will lose and if they dont they will just drop them on a subjective test.

I also agree with counting the championship game across the board. I understand the issue that certain teams may lose or try to not play in a championship game (A&M maybe? Losing the last game of the year to get healthy knowing no way they drop out of top 10?) but I kept hearing people say Bama is the #1 seed in the SEC, they HAVE to be in, then in that case Duke has a stronger argument. But no, they got in based on a weird tie breaker because the conferences are too big. Yes they played a tough schedule, **** happens, yet the championshi game cant only count for good, like if a team can go from 7th to 4th and get a first round bye as a reward there has to be some risk. Or say a team at 11 like BYU can win and be in, again has to be some risk, and I think that risk is if you are a top 4 and have a first round bye and lose, you may lose your bye rights, if you are a fringe 10 team and lose, then you are out the playoffs. EIther get rid of the championship games or make em count both ways.

And I agree with you on Bama, should have been way too hard for them to climb the ladder after losing to god awful FSU and they limped to the end of the season.

realistically speaking,is bama schedule trulyinsanely hard or a product of the CFP/AP continuing to rerank SEC teams unfairly?

A mix of both.... insanely hard? no. But harder than ND and probably a lot of other teams? yes.

comparing them to ND however: as ND/Bama and who has the edge

Miami/FSU: edge ND
Texas AM/ UL Monroe: ND
Purdue/Wisconsin: Bama
Arkansas/UGA: Bama
Boise/Vandy: Bama
NC State/Missouri: Bama
USC/Tenn: close, call it a push
BC/SC: Bama
Navy/LSU: Bama
Pitt/ Oklahoma: Bama
Syracuse/Eastern Illinois: ND
Stanford/Auburn : Bama

Miami and ND should both be in

The moment they moved Bama UP after a weak lucky win over a bad Auburn team and moved Notre Dame DOWN after steamrolling people (while Miami didn’t move at all after destroying Pitt) the hypocrisy was in full force

All that being said…**** ND

When considering how everything worked out, Notre Dame was eliminated last week.
What reasonable scenario would have gotten them in?
