Urban on Fox is fantastic

Is this the 5th Sperman Meyer thread on here? You guys are obsessed with that facquit aren’t you? What’s his connection to UM that has you guys starting threads eating his *** every couple of hours?
GIVE IT UP! He wouldn't stoop to touch Ms. Biles, Flake and their merry group of Azzholes. He'd hang up on them! It's like asking Vince Lombardi to coach your JV high school team!

I think I understand why our fans always want to fire our coach. They assume Miami will land a multi championship winning head coach to replace him. Dream on. Our next coach will either be a coach with no Power 5 HC experience OR a fired HC from a Power 5 team.

Funny how half here are pro urban the other half pro butch.funny thing is neither will be coach here nor anyone of that caliber until changes are made with the ones who make those decisions.

No ****. He represents the polar opposite of what our incompetent apathetic administration believes in. They would never hire someone that values winning the way Urban does.

Which tells you the sad story of UM football.

Doesn't mean we can't dream.
No doubt, but do you want a HC that let his UF roster run amok with criminal charges and ignored a series of domestic violence charges against an assistant coach?

His knowledge and expertise on all aspects of breaking down film and program success is incredible.
Specially today they were asking why Texas is struggling this year and why hasn’t Michigan been able to beat OSU etc.
If he comes back, he will win another title wherever he goes because he understands what it takes and how to do it.
He studies everyone in their conferences recruiting boards, has a coach watch every league team play and meets with once a week to go over what they are doing no matter the week. Said the Michigan rivalry game was never a big game bc it was ingrained in them to play each game with high intensity.
He then went into TX has had like 13 draft picks last like 10 years and Abama and OSU over 30. TX has had the #1 recruiting class in big 12 all but 1 time and no BiG 12 titles so it comes to player development.
Someone pay him to come down and evaluate Manny and give him feedback.

Saban is the same way. It was astonishing at the combine when they had him break down cornerback technique, specifically the backpedal.

Ultra sharp wins. You need someone a cut above. That's why I'm not as obsessed with spread offense or whatever. The key is finding someone who wins the decision process all year long. Swipe the vital 2 or 3% from the norm in one category after another. At that point all the sub plots fall into place.

When I was a kid the local sporting aspect that stood out above anything else was that the Dolphins had tons of smart guys atop the franchise and in key positions. You could listen to Joe Thomas for 3 sentences on personnel evaluation and sense how rare he was. Likewise Bobby Beathard and George Young. Then once it shifted to Chuck Connor and he was appearing on late '70s WKAT radio programs approaching the draft alongside a very young Chris Myers, now the ultra sharp was gone. Connor sounded liked just another fan on those programs. It was emblematic of what the Dolphins were experiencing as a whole.

No different with the Canes recently. That's why I'll stick with my 8--4 summary. Which person high in the football program recently stands out as 10-2 caliber and not 8-4? Same thing with USC if they realign with Clay Helton.

When the Canes have a coaching vacancy it shouldn't be baffled and scrambling from scratch, wondering what the heck our priorities are and who might fit them. That's why I think the smartest young guy in the athletic department should be assigned to that type of evaluation. Calmly hand over the list. The adjacent dunderheads are not allowed to scope it in progress or question it upon unveil.
Great post.

JJ didn’t have a great record at Oklahoma State but Jankovich recognized a genius football mind.

I couldn’t tell you who is in that group today. At least anyone hireable, should by some miracle the BOT decide they want a change.

I want a guy who only cares about winning. What you said above is ironically what most of the country accuses us of during the 80 and 90's.

Interpret that however you want. I'd welcome Urban or a guy like him with open arms.

I understand, it’s been a frustrating 15 years.

I’m not sure where I’d draw an ethical line. I certainly would not accept Art Briles.

****, you don't need Urban .... my neighbor's cat could tell you that.

Listen Nystateofmind is back on the board, he would be more appropriate to discuss a man crush with. I'm sure he will be gentle. Eye in the Sky on CIS.....not so much.

Urban is an excellent football analyst. I actually look forward to listening to what he has to say each time. It's not the typical BS we hear so often from the talking heads. The man knows the game and has won everywhere he's coached. Don't know if he really wants to go back to coaching - but if he does, whoever gets him will do really well.
