Yes he would. And if you think kids would come here just because he's Urban Meyer over Clemson, UGA, Bama and others where they could get paid you're delusional. These kids want money AND to win. I know it's sexier to some of you guys to just bash the staff but that doesn't change reality.

Diaz is gonna win here. And he does hire quality coaches. We have a OC who has our FR QB looking pretty good right now. We played 2 road game against 2 FBS teams with a new offense, new offensive staff and FR QB. Our defense replaced 3 starters in secondary which is contributing to big plays allowed. I'm not some blind fan who gonna defend a coach no matter what. At the same time it's stupid as **** to think 2 games is enough to be perfect and everything humming. We are 0-2 and I'm very excited to go to the game Saturday v BCC, and excited for the rest of the season. We got Jarren for multiple years, and we can build him an OL we getting to the playoffs as the rest will come together. We have a real QB and a QB coach.

But what sets Butch apart is his eye for talent, the diamond in the rough with that dog in him that he can spot and coach up like no other. Sure some will cynically ask why ain't he doing it at FIU. FIU can't attract the players Miami can. BIG difference.

Don't toss me in the bashing coaches camp.

Also, the payments to players is way blown out of proportion. It's an inferiority complex most have since they simply cannot understand in their irrational brain why someone wouldn't pick their school. Happens every year when we whiff on the elite locals when they pick the better program or got team.

What you said was true 30 years ago. It ain't true today.

Nobody cares about Miami anymore. We squandered every last bit of brand recognition we had by skimping on the football program and hiring subpar coaches for the past 30 years.

Miami is about as interesting as Wake Forest these days. "The U" is no more.

Let me stop you there- Dabo was rated as one of the top recruiters in the country under Tommy Bowden. He was also an excellent position coach. Clemson was banking on Dabo's recruiting acumen to build the program. While he was "learning to be a HC" he was stockpiling talent. Diaz is not a good recruiter. Miami is pretty much lost at LB next year. Guess who coached LBs the last few years?

Clemson knew Dabo could recruit, it just had to wait to see if Dabo could coach (and Larry Coker proved a terrible coach can win a championship with enough talent). Miami is pinning its hopes on Diaz learning to coach AND suddenly becoming a good recruiter. That takes a lot of faith.
 
I’ve been off this board for like one month and I’m amazed at how many fans have already jumped off the Diaz ship.

Diaz did not hire quality coaches.

Enos is mediocre. We still suck in the red zone. I'm seeing no adjustments from him and his stubbornness with the playaction with this OL is driving me insane.

Baker is a NoD part 2. Manny's friend. He needed to be fired as soon as the UNC game ended.

Stubblefield is no technician and is probably the biggest recruiting liability. He caught a bunch of passes and his name was involved with Campanaro (undeservedly) so he's now somehow qualified to coach here. He's never stayed at one place for more than two years. Our guys can't run routes and are still dropping passes.

Stroud, you want to see what coaching downwards look like, look no further than this guy who went from NC State to Akron. Our guys are getting zero penetration cause they have NO techniques.

Field is mainly a recruiter. I don't have as much of a problem with him but can he start teaching his guys to block?

Hickson. No one has even heard of this guy. Our RBs are producing but recruiting is a question mark. Chaney was going to be a Cane no matter what and he failed to get Knighton even with having a supposedly good relationship with the DFB coaches. DFB is anti Cane but he went all in on Knighton and is now having to circle back on Parrish.

Barry gets too much credit for being in the NFL and no one's talking about how the Bucs had one of the worst OL. This OL is even worse than last year, spare me the freshman excuses.

And the guys he kept:

Banda. Manny's friend. The bartender. Gets embarrassed on the trail year round. Recruits play him like a fiddle. Can't coach either, he's clueless and constantly goes to Mike for coaching.

Patke. Manny's friend. The LB room is a joke. Our senior LBs are somehow even worse than last year. This GA just popped out of nowhere, trying to recruit a Texas DT (he failed) bc Kool was checked out. And now he leads ST. This guy is responsible for two of the bottom most units.

Rumph. He tries.

Diaz ignored ST. He has two DB coaches that do not equal to one. He kept the defensive coaches for continuity but it is now a liability.

So Zoloft Richt was able to get a borderline top 5 class in 18 and a borderline top 10 class in 17, Al Golden had multiple September top 5 classes, and Randy Shannon actually had a #1 but fvckin Urban Meyer would not be able to recruit at Miami? Some of you guys are in la la land on here. We would be dominating the coastal and the classes we usually have in May-September would actually stick cause we would not **** the bed on the field. Then once we stacked a couple of top 10 classes we would be rocking again. Are you fvckin serious with this BS? No way you believe what you posted.

Yes, kids would come here because he is Urban Meyer. He’s probably the 2nd or 3rd best college football coach in recent history. There would be a ton of kids lining up to play here for him. It’s crazy to think otherwise.

Some of you are jokes man. Whiny children behavior making judgements on people after 2 games. Sad af. You say Enos sucks right. But he has a FR QB going 30-39 with 300 yards 2 TDs and no picks. We putting up 500 yards. You guys think it was just coaching that made us have a terrible season last year? It was a big part but not all and we dont have a championship level roster yet.

And that doesnt just mean I'm talking about just recruiting new players. I'm talking about the players developing an understanding of their role and skills to do their own job. Maximize their talent. Perform under pressure. Not give up 4th and 17. And when the players all ready here develop then get the top top players at many positions to win 50/50 battles.

Nobody is guaranteed success. You could be Dabo or you could be Al Golden. AL Golden never got 70 points put on his team....Dabo did. Dabo thought it was unacceptable and made changes, he was allowed to make changes. Golden stuck with his buddy. You may say these coaches suck but only time will tell that and maybe Diaz will say ok we moving on and finding new coaches. But that time hasn't come yet. I'm more encouraged than disappointed in the team. I dont care what anybody says. We have a QB. Once we build the OL we will be unstoppable on offense. Saban's doesnt hire scrubs sorry, and Enos coached a great offense before.

The problem with some of you fans is you spent the offseason hyping the team up and some players and convince yourself we are playoff bound, gonna beat Clemson yada yada. Never take time to say a new offense may take time or we might not be clicking in August and lose couple close games. I did. no proven QB coming in and a new offense. Some of you sent the kicker death threats.
We about to win 5 in a row and go play PITT 5-2, get revenge then play FSU 6-2. Destroy their team, get Tagghart fired. By the end of the season we gonna be saying what if we beat UNC or UF.

2010: 49th
2011: 57th
2012: 64th
2013: 110th
2014: 70th
2015: 25th
2016: 54th
2017: 94th
Not so great. He may have done a good job teaching mechanics but his past does not inspire confidence in his playcalling abilities. There's things you can do to help a struggling OL and he's out here calling plays like we got Bama's OL. We are struggling in the redzone. None of those stats matter if you can't put up TDs.

The 4th and 17 was 100% on Baker. What imbecile blitzes a safety in that situation? Not only that but he's having Garvin spy the QB way too often. But at least we shut down the run right? News flash: Bum Franks and true frosh Howell ended up beating us with their arm.

And lets talk about developing players. Diaz has shown that he can't develop players. This joke of an LB room is on him. Our senior LBs have regressed every year.

Sorry, but I see this playing out like Golden. Manny will not have it in him to fire his friends, especially new father Baker. Dabo did not hire his friends. No competent coach hires their friends.

I've never said we were playoff bound and beating Clemson. But at the very least, I expect to not lose to ******* UNC. Diaz had 2 weeks to prepare and this team looked as unprepared as ever. Before you know it, we were down 17-3. By the way, UNC also had a completely new staff, new offense, and a new QB.

We better win 5 in a row but the reality is this team will be in a dogfight with any P5 team.
