Yep. The can will be kicked down the road a minimum of three years. In case anyone isn't paying attention, every coaching hire has been this same routine. Hire some schlub, buy time that you don't have to do anything about the program till the fans and alums are at pitchforks and torches, then wash, rinse repeat. Same old, same old, no matter who the university president is, no matter who the AD is, whatever.

That's what I noticed as well. Looks like Frenks is not only staying away from football but from everything. WTF is he doing.
 
I hate Urban, but the second he’s on our sideline I’m his biggest fan. That being said it’s 2 games. I still think we right the ship. If not, next. Cane ‘TIL I DIE.

Yeah but unfortunately if *** decides to coach again and by some miracle we decide you try to hire him.......we would not be to only ones. So *** would get to ask questions and ask for things during his interview and he will probably get better answers at other universities.
 
Miami isn't hiring Urban Meyer, and for good reason. Urban is a solid coach, but in exchange for those wins, you doom yourself to years of mediocrity because he steals the lifeblood of your program and mortgages your future. This is another problem with our fanbase: The belief that only a couple of guys can win here. If people like Blake James were anywhere near competent, he would be able to identify up and coming coaching talent, and hire those guys. Miami has to be ahead of the curve, not just reaching toward the most expensive guy available. Why?

Because Miami can't go out and overspend once a mistake is made. Remember, if Miami tries to be Alabama in the football offices, they will lose to them on the field. Miami and schools in similar situations have to find market inefficiencies and exploit them. That's what Howard did, that's what Jimmy did, to an extent, that's what Butch did. Miami needs a coach that can A)Identify talent, and B)Figure out a way to get the most out of that talent. I have my doubts that Manny can identify talent and get the most out of it. If he knew how to do that, he wouldn't have gotten worked by Mack Brown last night.

Pining for Urban, I get. Beyond that, actually thinking we could afford one of the three guys who could demand a 10 million dollar salary is beyond ridiculous. ****, let's throw Saban and Dabo on our wish list as well for funsies.

Hahahahahahaha. We've already had decades of mediocrity. Folks here seem to be pretty **** used to it. I think most of us would trade a few more years of mediocrity for a championship.

Seeing that we are, for better or worse (time will tell), stuck with Manny for at least two years, what exactly does this thread accomplish? Other than mental *********ion.
