... translation; state schools with big budgets and dirty boosters, who let football players run amok, with no care for the actual student-athlete part of the equation. Football factories are the only schools who will hire a guy like him—and for better or worse, that ain't Miami.

Please. Notre Dame actually has academic standards for their football program. Meyer would never be able to recruit there the way he did at Florida or Ohio State. That guy wouldn't touch Notre Dame with a ten-foot pole. IF he comes back to football, he'll wind up at Southern Cal as they have no issue bending and breaking rules for their elitist alumni who want to build a winner again.

and we are stuck with this dude who doesn't hire Miami level coaches (Patke, Banda, DL coach, Stubberfield, whoever the **** the RB coach is - all whiffs), can't recruit for ****, and can't win games we should be winning. Was a lazy hire by the admin. Elite coaches don't do all of the above and at this point we need an elite coach to get back to where we want to be.

I remember everybody on here clowning LSU for hiring coach O, well at least that man can recruit and is smart enough to sit back and be a CEO. Diaz has a single positive quality and it's the ability to speak well which is not particularly important if you can't do any of the other stuff.

We tried hiring Aranda. He went where the money was. People need to recognize that $ is the issue.

Can’t hire good assistants without it.
