That could be more important than folks realize. Didn't I read an article about Orgeron finding out that Bama had a huge staff of analysts that analyzed every last detail about LSU? He realized how much Bama did to prepare for opponents so he went and got more money for his analyst staff. We probably need more. On top of mediocre on-the-field coaching we probably need more and better analysts.

National titles are won by the schools who get the best coaches. End of story.

Once in a while a scrub team like Texas or Auburn rides a transcendent qb to the title, but that ain’t happened in years.

People come up with any and every excuse to cover for the epic corching going on in Florida to **** on the excellent players we produce.

There are more championship level programs than there are championship coaches and coordinators to lead them.

By luck of the draw, different programs get those coaches and the power structure of the sport rotates.

The difference between programs is that some go all out to be an attractive place for power coaches to sign. Scarcity and administrative incompetence still leaves powerful programs on the outside looking in.

But many posters here hate Florida players and they hate having to admit that their beloved school is inept and waste MILLIONS hiring super trash coaches that had huge red flags before signing.

Then they extend these clowns?!?!?!?!😖

Florida loses many top-notch HS coaches to the more lucrative jobs in GA. That's been true for 15 years at least. Randy McPherson is one of the best. Originally from Lake Worth and made his name at Madison County before taking over at Lowndes.

Exactly...arguably Central Florida’s best ever coach, Rick Darlington of Apopka left recently for a better gig in AL.
 
Miami is unique compared to any other school in the southeast in that we can't go much east, west, or south to get talent. Draw a 300-mile circle around Miami and you get central and south Florida. Draw that same circle at any other school and you cross state boundaries. In short, geography alone says that Miami should have more in-state talent as a percent of the roster compared to other schools, even if talent was equal.

Miami sucks at identifying the right South Florida talent. We need to do a better job at recruiting the guys that mentally have it and not just guys that want it given to them. I think some of these issues are more well known in other states where high school coaches speak more honestly about their players.

The Miami area has a lot of ******* people. In other words, we should be able to identify the right players. It isn't even about stopping guys like Jeudy, and Cooper from going to Bama; that will happen over time. Let's focus on getting guys like Lamar Jackson, T.Y. Hilton. Let's recruit Dalvin Cook and not Joe Yearby. Let's not spend time on Trevon Valentine, Matthew Thomas, Aldarious "Glue Hands" Johnson, and Dontae Lucas.

Rick also left because the FHSAA is a cesspool with these kids transferring ever 5 mins. Half of his team trasferred to wekiva 2 years ago or he would have had another state title.

Would be interesting (to me) to know how it is broken down by South Florida vs. non-South Florida and by position. Are South Florida recruits disproportionately skill positions? Is South Florida relatively weak in producing OLs, as I think?

I've been astonished by the constant and frequent transferring among high schools by athletes. This isn't common non-athletes, us it?

If you transferred that many times as a non athlete you would be screwed your transcript wouldnt get you in anywhere

Correct, I didn’t want to get into all that lol. It’s not the first time he’s left either. He left to coach Valdosta back in the early 2000’s as well. It’s funny they are in the championship game this year tho...

True, but Darlington did actually have one disastrous year in GA when he flopped at Valdosta...

He makes 2-3 times what he makes in FL with a cheaper cost of living. I would leave too.

Those ‘offer’ Numbers are silly and meaningless. They’re counting ‘hi, howre you doing’ letters to out of statekids as offers. Okay. Whatever. Focus on who actually enrolls.
 
If Urban Meyer said we weren't in the top 10 because our fan's ****s were too small, half this board would reach for a ruler and try to "misread" the metric side.
