Part of the mystique of coming to CIS and posting was the Gladiator style approval/disapproval system. You knew if you talked some BS the wolves would eat you alive. This new millennial friendly what mood am I in today type rating system threatens the essence of what made this site great. Like da Vinci said, simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.

I always felt it excluded those on the lower end of the evolutionary scale without opposable thumbs. It is outright Speciesism.

This. I kinda like the variety of reactions and support a **** emoji, but it would be really nice if up/down was a one-click endeavor and everything else was part of the drop down.
