Upon Further Review: Corey Hetherman

His defense is playing lights out and playing inspired right now! He may not be here next year if he keeps it up! NFL may come calling or even HC job if he wants that

One thing I looked at when he was with Minnesota was holding opponents under their averages. He did it I think about 90% of the time maybe more

So far he’s held Notre Dame, USF, and UiF to their lows on offense. Notre Dame and Florida were significantly lower

What was Mario’s connection to Hetherman? Was it Schiano? Where did we find this guy. God****, you gotta even love his demeanor on the sideline.

Like where?

In today’s football climate you never know what opens up unexpectedly. Lanning lands a top tier job after only being a DC for 3 years. His first DC role. Jeremy Pruitt is another who was able to position himself in the right place in the right time and land a good gig in short order.

So it could happen.

NFL is unlikely. This is only his 2nd year a DC back to back.

I can only think of Dan Quinn and Jesse Minter who became NFL DC after two years of consistent college DC. Maybe there are others, but it is rare
