Updated Defensive Depth Chart -- 1/3/19

Patchan is a nightmare at DE. We're gonna be skinny at DL unless Harvey/Bogle (possibly) can come in right away and produce.
 
We need help big time on the DL especially in the middle. I’ve been disappointed with Ford and Patchan.
 
The talent quotient is right on par with what Diaz has had to work with since 2016 imo

I agree, but I put it how I did simply because Rousseau has not played a single snap yet. But even if he's great, this is your mix of both weak and strong-side DEs:

Garvin -- Beast, one of the best ends in the conference

Rousseau -- Exceptionally talented, but still needs size and hasn't played yet
Patchan -- Serviceable, but not an elite kid and also has injury concerns

Joyner -- Tweener, switching positions and needs a lot of development
Harvey -- I love this kid, but a true freshman
Williams -- True Freshman

And....that's about it. Absolutely terrible for what would be Year 4 of a Mark Richt team. Manny deserves blame here too. This is absolutely inexcusable.

And also, Bogle? Hello? How can you not be salivating looking at those names on paper??

Yep. I think Silvera will be ready. Can we get anything out of Ford? DT and DE transfer or quality JUCO is very much needed.

I will say this. Having your 3-year starters at linebackers back for their senior season is huge if we are a little sparse at tackle.
 
I think Blissett is gonna be very good for us. I can see him making an immediate impact.

Let's go back to 2016. Things were not looking good on the defensive line, especially at defensive tackle. Coach Kool showed his development skills immediately. The thought going into the 2016 season was that Gerald Willis would be the guy. Gerald Willis was not the guy. In fact, Gerald Willis didn't start. RJ McIntosh & Kendrick Norton, True Sophomores, had breakout seasons.

We need Jess Simpson to be Coach Kool in 2019...or he can join Dugans, Browns, etc.

Huh? that DL is jacked with talent ( though some untested) I do think we need to another DT/DE in grad transfer but I like the DL a ton. It is the safeties that have me concerned to be honest.
