Update on transfer QBs

I think with the last two Heisman Trophy Winners coming out of Oklahoma, Baker doing good in the NFL and Tyler announcing his entry into the Draft, that may have him rethinking his choice. Also Oklahoma is closer to Texas, so his parents could watch him play.

I'm willing to bet that Spencer Rattler scares him. That kid is the goods. I believe its really down to UM and MD. I have no real clue, but this is my guess.

I like Martell much more over Hurts anyway. He is a better passer.

unless something changes we are getting martell and quite frankly, his tape doesnt impress me much. i think jarren has way more potentional if he stops with the self pity.

That’s perfectly fine but we need competition in te QB room. I don’t care who wins the battle. Tate isn’t going to be given the job. We just need more than Williams, kosi the pornhub king and and Weldon the pothead on our roster.

Just get Martell in here. Kind of indifferent on Hurts. One year and he is gone anyway
Need some stability imo
I agree we need some stability and I also feel Martell would bring the Swag back to our offense and/or team. Manny maybe looking at this on a "who's got the dog in him" and can bring it back to the U on the O side of the team.

OU does make sense but something tells me that Lincoln Riley (now believing he is a top level coach and having proof of it) won’t hesitate to start Spencer Rattler over Jalen Hurts if they get into Spring and Fall camp and he starts Trevor Lawrencing ish. That would be the ultimate embarrassment for Hurts and his dad, and Riley would shrug and say “tough”. Something he better consider, he knows that being rejected and finishing 2nd Hurts.

I don’t know how good he is but OU’s back up QB Austin Kendall is now in the portal. He has 2 seasons of eligibility remaining and can play right away. May be a sign of Hurts to OU.

Been a lot of Maryland talk, after hearing he was an Ou lean originally. You would think he would factor in weather but guess he isn't concerned throwing the ball in cold weather.
He would know the offense best it would give him the starting role again.

Coming out of Tate Martell’s visit to campus yesterday, I’m told by a program source that Miami is actually more confident in landing Martell than Alabama transfer Jalen Hurts at this time. It seems confidence has slipped with Hurts a bit, as heading into his weekend visit, all indicators out of Coral Gables was that he was UM’s to lose, but things seem more up in the air right now on what he’ll do. Confidence is higher with Martell though and I’m hearing Miami feels they are in the prime position to land him as of now.

Martell makes his final decision next week between UM, Louisville, and WVU, while Hurts will choose between schools like Miami, Maryland, and OU among others.
How many times now has it been that a player was "Miami's to lose" and we lose them?

My prediction. Hurts chooses OU and loses the job half way through the season to Rattler. Martell chooses the canes. Doesn't receive his waiver and has to sit in 2019. Jarren leads us to the ACC championship where the canes fall short due to a last min Lawrence td. Canes dominate in a New Years 6 bowl against an $EC team. In 2020 Martell transfers to Nebraska where He leads the Cornhuskers to a Big Ten Championship win over Buckeyes. Plays the Canes in the Naty and loses a shootout against Heisman Trophy winner Jarren Williams as the Canes win their 6th National Championship. The End

Whether we get 1 of the 2 and Plumlee or both I think we win regardless and set up for a big year. I can see why OU for Hurts becomes so appealing I judy think we win out in the end because this feels like Tua/Jalen, Lawrence/Bryant where if the freshman superstar shows he's ready good chance he'll get the start in the end so hope it wins out this time
