Love how posters who have the slightest idea of what led Stone to the portal continue to push the false narrative that Stone entered the portal just to get a bigger bag and will continue to do so becoming a headache.

NEWS FLASH IT WAS OU WHO CUT HIS DEAL AND RENEGOTIATED IT!

They’re the ones who got cute, trying to take advantage of his loyalty to OU and almost FAFO’d!!!

Now maybe in the future he does try to use the portal as leverage or maybe he never lives up to his current NIL deal but that’s NOT what happened now.

Truth is he’s not coming here so IDGAF about him but the Funny thing is Stone is a local OKC kid who grew up dreaming up playing for OU and according to our most trusted insiders took less money to go there than he could’ve gotten here and elsewhere. He’s basically their Duke Johnson. Isn’t that the standard that we want to apply to our local kids????

Miami had one of the worst offenses in college football in 2018, and again in 2022. It had the best offense in CFB last year. I understand that some believe that recruiting rankings have no bearing, but if that is the case why doesn’t Rice or Temple have an equal shot of winning the national title?
Woah, shot across the bow at Rice! What them Owls ever do to Gojira?

So what everybody else is saying about the d-line is a lie? You are the only one who keeps saying the d-line isn’t good. Brantley is at nickel
I’m sure the Miami media is super trustworthy and they’ve been right every single year on Cristobal. Just like how the dudes you tug nuts on and hang onto their every word said defense was fine last year, CB’s were not to worry about, the DL was elite, the staff loves Emory, Wes and Kiko were savages, LB room was all good, etc. 2023 it was that TVD has turned the corner, the WR room was deep. 2022 was the all star staff we assembled, we’re going to win immediately, we killed the portal. Here we go all over again with guys that didn’t do jack last year.

You and @canecrazy23 are definitely early front-runners for top 10 slurpers in 2025, the list is narrowing down each year as people come to their senses but man, there’s some awesome candidates on this board. Great material and it gives me a good chuckle in the short-term.

Do you guys ever listen to yourselves or go back and see what people said/why you believed in those takes?

The lack of self-awareness in general is amazing. I mean if you want to admittedly stick your head in the sand and be a fanboy, that’s totally fine and I won’t be malicious. But to attack respected posters for more trustworthy takes while instead hanging onto every word of the pomp and circumstance you’d rather hear to make yourself feel better about the situation is WILD to me.

Only at the U.

Respectfully, if you don't recognize the needs at DT, you really shoudn't post on a fooball board. Look back at any team in UM history that was really good (at a level consistent with our apsirations and spending), and you will see four DTs who can play. The season is now much longer with playoffs, and offenses run 20+ more plays per game than in the old days. It's a critical position, extremely physical, wrought with injuries. We need dudes at DT, not just 2-3, more like 4-6.

For the one-year short run, IMO we lost more than we gained. Beyond that, it looks like we're hoping for improvement and improved health from the guys who have been here.

this sus dt had his family in cane colors when he picked ou... got beat out by his hs roommate who was recruited to ou as a +1.....and entered thje transfer portal...cut the sh*t dont compare this dude to Duke Johnosn

Because players get overrated and underrated. We get alot of overrated players AND don't use them properly. Occasional underrated guys like Cooper.

What was the average ranking of Georgia Techs juggernaut offense and defense last year?

Or Iowa States? How many 4 and 5 star guys do they have on their rosters?

Our offense was good last year bc of Cam Ward. Not bc of composite rankings. We know this to be a fact bc look what happened with Emory running the offense.

The defense was bad last year bc almost the entire room are overrated busts with low football IQ, AND were coached very poorly.

The perennial powerhouses like OSU and UGA do their evals properly. They get the properly rated guys. Highly rated guys who are then coached into maximizing their talent on the field. They also hit on underrated guys (like Clemson).

Jeremiah Smith is the perfect example. 5-star kid. He was an instant impact MVP freshman on the champion team. That's the kind of performance you should get out of a 5-star.

Mario and his team can't even recruit or develop a starting center. Portal every year. And they're desperate for WRs too. OSU doesn't have that problem. They bring in talented guys and develop them.
I mean I know you're typin' through it, but the italicized made me actually laugh. Yes, you are correct, every 5 star high school kid should be the MVP of the national title winner, I see absolutely zero holes in that logic and it is totally in line with the entire history of this sport.

I am right.

A 5-star should be an instant impact freshman regardless of the team they're on.

That's the whole point of being a 5-star.

Smith just so happened to be on Ohio State. The team that won the natty.

Yet another canesinsight galaxy brain who's satisfied with our 5-stars underperforming.

Using the best wide receiver prospect in a decade as evidence that every five-star should make an immediate impact is certainly a choice.

Just at a glance, from 2023 and 2024, about 50% of the 5-stars are instant impact guys and for every Jeremiah Smith, there is a Jurrion ****ey or even a Brandon Inniss.

You need to reset those expectations my guy.

You sound bout dumb as héll. I didn’t say shît bout what the media said because they don’t get to see practice. I been saying Emory was áss when I saw him play as a freshman so I knew that was a lie. Everybody knew that secondary was bad. That’s what all the talk was on the board last offseason. I’m far from a dámn slurper. I call it how it see it and how it is.

Idgaf about no respected poster nonsense. If others who have seen practice are saying something different and this one guy is the only one keep saying the d-line isn’t good and everything sucks. So he is saying bain, Scott and etc and all these guys are trash. While other people who have seen these guys have said the opposite. Dude even was trying to say a sophmore has never been the best DT on a team in further efforts to push his narrative. Said the d-line was bad in spring and they hadn’t even put the pads on yet. Said another day they were bad because the o-line had a better day like they are playing a trash line

How are players evaluated and paid ?
Based off of potential or market value ??!

I feel like in todays market u have to overpay even though said player won’t reach their potential for another couple of years and that impacts purchasing power for the here and now impact players !

Know what you talking about before you comment. Has nothing to do with depth. The topic was about guys abilities and what they been doing on the field. Obviously wel another Dt is needed

You're missing the ENTIRE point of my original post.

Guys are overrated alot. Guys are underrated alot.

It's up to coaches to be able to do their own evals and find the good players.

The completely objective label of being a 5-star is to indicate to the world that a player is capable of being an instant impact freshman. It's not based on their development potential. That's what 4, 3, and 2 stars are for.

Speaking of Inniss, where is he?
