Update on David Stone-he is staying at Oklahoma

I say we put together a CIS donation drive for Canes Connection so that we can afford whoever we want.

We are sounding like some poverty people here.

If we want David Stone, Trebor Pena, and whoever the **** you want...I'm sure they take Zelle, Apple Pay, Google Wallet, money order, crypto, cash, PayPal, Steam cards, and more.

we will until his contract is over. We’re getting exactly what we’re paying for at this point in time. If you want to look at some of the coaches on the list that have accomplished less than Mario but are getting paid more, go ahead and take a look. Don’t take my word for it. We’re finally spending the same money other programs have been pouring into theirs for 30 years and he’s supposed to win everything overnight. His first real recruiting class is starting their junior year! Winning a championship is a long process, period and there aren’t any shortcuts.

If there was no transfer portal, we'd have won 4 games last year. Mario's 3rd year. Hes not head coach material.

I kinda wondered if Stone jumped in the portal expecting we were still offering the same $$ after getting a pay cut at OU. And I’m not sure it’s that simple wouldn’t be surprised to see him end up back there. We’d probably lose Jones and Stone is like what our 3rd? 4th best DT?

There is a reason why the Syracuse kid has visits set up to big spenders. The reason is proven production and freshman all American honors at a position that commands top dollar.

No way I risk disrupting the locker room with a potential diva that’s gonna complain about the rotation and was low balled by a school who’s head coach is regarded as a good evaluator and producer of talent in the line.

Look at Jalen brown at fsu.
Why didn’t the best schools go after him when he left lsu? Because he couldn’t produce at a top program and he hasn’t done jack sht at fsu either.
What about Hakeem in the portal? Top 5 in the country. Dude isn’t not gonna sign with a frontrunner at all.

You don’t low ball a player with elite potential especially when you know they can bounce if you **** them off. If they did low ball him there should’ve been no surprise that he bounced. And it looks like they ain’t trying too hard to keep him.

This is what worries me. Once they see you in practice with other good cfb players (this isn’t HS) they now know what they have. If they feel like you are a regular *** player they will let you walk to the portal. You think OSU is going to let an elite player go into the portal? They will fight for them
 
Him only being in play for OU out of SEC schools means we should focus all our efforts on him. Watson is having all the SEC schools target him

College Football is nothing like the NFL. There is no “salary cap.” It’s more like the MLB, where the biggest spenders are going to be the most successful. A simple concept we refuse to accept for some strange reason.

Miami also has another problem where it has one the best of best budgets in the country and can’t even install an average defense and make a playoff with a garbage schedule. 25’ starting to feel like Deja vu with this roster.

I try not to be this negative but I’ve been hinting at this. My optimism still says we get some good guys. But all you have to look at is the consistent roster imbalance and overpayments across the roster. One day it will get better *deep sigh*

It's the roster imbalance/mismanagement that is the scariest indicator for me. It hints that the blueprint/philosophy is bad.

I agree. Players are generally what they've produced lately (absent injury keeping them out). Watson produced big-time last season. Stone didn't.

Nope not the goal at all. But winning a power 4 conference championship with Corey Flagg as your best linebacker isn’t quite doable no matter how good of a coach you are. The only real shot he had at winning the conference was last year period thanks to the gapping hole left in our team by Manny and his sht recruiting.
