Sling blade has better takes than Napier.
Swallow tailed kite eh? My favorite bird. Saw like 12 of them out in Big Cypress 2 weeks ago.

Not that kind of retention. I think D$ means we are fighting to retain current impact guys who are getting aggressive bids from other schools.
If we continue to recruit 4- and 5-star players, they're gonna need raises every year to keep them around. So do you pay them and have less $$ for other teams' players or do you let them walk and become potential studs on another team?
I obsess over them. Absolutely gorgeous, that's McIntosh preserve plant city. Very good eye.Swallow tailed kite eh? My favorite bird. Saw like 12 of them out in Big Cypress 2 weeks ago.
I agree but according to Mario we dont renegotiate lol. obviously every player wants more money especially after a productive season or they'll leave. If you think Miami players aren’t asking for and negotiating deals for more money, and this only happens at other schools, please like this post so I can ignore you immediately.

we prolly paid Jaden Harris to leaveIt all balances out. There are guys who also take pay cuts. As mentioned prior, tons of money came off the books. Look alone who is gone from last years squad. I believe 14 starters and key backups. The 2025 class did not cost much. Even with the winter additions, we should have a ton of money. We either want to spend, or we don't.

tells you we not getting **** in portalI personally love David Stone and Trebor Pena. They are impact guys in my book. But this is like NFL free agency and there are a lot of factors at play, not all of which can be reported.
Retention is a huge part of this process that we don’t talk about, but it is creating some tough decisions.
I’m cool with my monthly Canes Connection being allocated to such efforts.we prolly paid Jaden Harris to leave
If that’s what it took, I would have gladly personally funded him leavingwe prolly paid Jaden Harris to leave
Slot is not where we need the impact player. Malachai is already there.Make it make sense
Absolutely understood. There are certain guys that we must retain, I’m in agreement.Players that would melt the board if we lost them.
We aren’t the only ones pushing and spending to get better.
I’m told Miami has interest in Oklahoma DT transfer David Stone but, as with Trebor Pena, this is not as far along as is being reported.
In terms of allocation, the focus remains on adding an impact WR with speed, a starting safety, and retaining our own impact players amidst aggressive bids from other schools.
You know when hect puts out post like this.. it's overYikes
I hope you’re right but kids could go publicly they are entering portal even if schools do not submit paperwork. There are rumors schools may be pulling a Wisconsin on kids.People who complain about the lack of big names in the Portal just need to wait a couple more days. Teams (including Miami) are primarily working on retention, not acquisition. Players who are not in the Portal are communicating back-channeled offers to their current teams and waiting on a response. If they don’t like what they hear, they will enter the Portal.
That applies to us as well. There are several players on our two-deep that are being pursued by teams with big bag offers and need to make a decision soon.
We’re not competing with these bags, but good for him.

Absolutely am aware of that. Mentioned Lyle as one obvious candidate that a certain big-time school was after. But that certainly does not equate to the list I mentioned above. Carson Beck got paid, sure. We had to have it at the time. But everyone else? I mean idk…seems like Mario was talking out of both sides of his mouth when he said we don’t re-negotiate.
Because I know we do, and we have been.
O’Connor probably got some money, but not some massive deal. Lucas sure. That’s three. Blay I can’t imagine got a ton.
Who else are we upping that proved their worth last season? Or was it out of desperation?
If you’re blindly upping 4 and 5-star players that haven!’t played yet, well then I personally think that’s very foolish and completely against the train of thought that we need more instant-impact guys. That’s reactive behavior, not proactive.
The math ain't matching. We don't have enough impact players to be penny pinching. If we are tight on funds then Mario isn't the only bad contract on the books. It all balances out.
