Unpopular opinion on TVD

All those things might be true, dude has serious arm talent. If somebody fixes the mental issues, strike gold. I would ask our fans to watch those OU qb's. We don't have anybody that can make the throws their capable of. Release time, angles, etc. The only pass I give Lashlee. We can't run plays that OU and many other teams run. 2 seconds ball out and caught in a flash. I haven't seen that out of us in years.
I'll say it again, having seen him first play when he was a junior in high school: there is not a throw on the field that TVD can't make. Period.

Kid has big time tools. (Whether that makes him an All-ACC QB? Ask me in 4 years).

I do appreciate what you're saying, I'm not picking a fight. But having played and coached the position, one thing always holds true: you can work on mechanics, you can get stronger and faster in the gym, you can study more and work harder in the film room, you can team with an OC that knows how to play to your strengths and minimize your weaknesses.

BUT .... YOU CAN'T FIX STUPID!

Guys like Rattler are toxic, and fixing "mental issues" is not the same a coaching up a player, and teaching him how to be better. If you are a knucklehead, you will always be a knucklehead no matter how much arm talent you have (Ryan Leaf, Johnny Manziel, JaMarcus Russell, all endorse this message)

Brains at QB is what makes them a great player, regardless of arm talent (Philip Rivers , Drew Brees, and Joe Montana, all endorse this message).

I'm pretty sure @Lance Roffers and @Liberty City El and others who understand the game will agree with me. So, I could be wrong, but I really don't think so.

Rattler is a hard no. Kid needs massive discipline and an attitude change and he wouldn’t get the structure here that he needs. He is an ***

I'm not arguing any of the points on Rattler, just his arm talent. I'll take a smooth and steady any day. In college I care about accuracy first and foremost. I think TVD is plenty good enough. Never meant to allege he isn't. I think TVD has a great arm, slow delivery. Long delivery. My point was that there are plays with our athletes that other teams can run that we can't. From the time of snap to completion. I see teams executing at a much faster pace, one I don't think we are capable of, nor many other teams.

I’m all for a portal QB, but I wouldn’t go after somebody who hasn’t taken a college snap. If we go portal heavy to try to turn this around ASAP, you gotta get a kid who has proven he can play the position in college. If not you’re just taking another shot on potential.
