Unpopular Opinion: Best Players

Lol the threads we get after wins. Almost make you miss losing...hahahahaha

(Excluding king) We are really tryna compare the #1 player in their cycle at their respective position to 3 stars and 4 stars?

While ignoring the game changers we have at RB and also at TE2?

I don’t think anyone is saying 3 stars are better than those kids...but we are saying guys like Tutu Atwell are better than guys like christian williams....

Sometimes, crazy *** posters have a point. Those are some of our best players right now. Guess what OP, we’ve been straight robbed the last few years in south Florida, though. Whether it’s SEC bag schools getting the 4-5 stars, or other schools out-evaluating us, it just means we didn’t get the right guys that were available. But they were there. It’s called you better recruit South Florida better than you have been.

I still think Mallory and Blades can be really good players. I was also pretty pleasantly surprised by McCloud. His night started rough with some missed tackles but once he found his footing he REALLY played well.

This roster has holes at WR and CB. Luckily, we are strong at positions that can cover up these deficiencies on the respective sides of the ball. We have 2 REALLY good safeties in Hall and Bolden. We likewise have 2 REALLY good tight ends on offense.

This team has enough to win double digit games and set this program up for a MAJOR step up in recruiting. Win 10, don't get annihilated by Clemson, and make a good showing in your bowl game and you're all going to see how we magically start pulling in consecutive top 5 recruiting classes in the next two years.
You lost me with the McCloud comment.

I wear crazy like a badge of honor. Need to wake up some of the sheep on this site.

I don't disagree that we've missed on South Florida studs, but tired of hearing SF 3 stars = 5 stars.

Yea the whole So Fla underrated thing doesn’t really exist anymore. It’s not 1992.

You need to land the elite So Fla kids. You can’t let Dalvin Cook and Jerry Jeudy leave. THOSE were the players that the national services underrated back in the day that we would land. Today they are properly rated and nationally recruited.

The way you keep them home is by recruiting nationally yourself so you don’t have to scramble to fill with poorly coached So Fla kids with lesser talent, so ur team improves and then looks like a better place to come play. Diaz seems to be getting this, and it’s paying off so far.

Our 2021 class is almost entirely from south florida or have connections to it.
Wouldn't trade any of those players for an out of state five star.

Gregory Rousseau, who if he played this year, would be the best player on the team. And he's a South Florida 3 star. So they still exist.

Fire up the South Florida loyalists, but our 4 best players are not from South Florida. In no particular order:

- D'Eriq King
- Brevin Jordan
- Bubba Bolden
- Jaelan Phillips

Phillips is a man-child, it's a shame we don't get to watch him and Rousseau on the same line this year.

Let's pump the brakes on South Florida 3-stars being equal to 4/5-star talk. You can see why Jordan, Phillips and Bolden were highly touted national recruits.
Not sure about bolden here maybe roche, cam, chaney or even nesta could be the 4th

That’s a ridiculous statement. Elite players exist all over the country.

Didn't say they didn't. But Im happy with our class. And if we can do every year what we've done in 21, we don't need to go out of state for players.

This. One of the reasons out of state transfers are thriving here is because most of our upperclass Florida talent has been bouncing as Jrs with ****** draft grades. It's easier to start over sophomores as a sr transfer.
