Less than a handful. How many athletic departments are actually in a position to become “professional?”
Less than a handful. How many athletic departments are actually in a position to become “professional?”
If u recall, good sir, we already got a portal QB on the roster.
I will always love my canes but cfb was never the same after the transfer portal.i hope y'all realize you cant just "make this like the NFL"
the end product wouldnt resemble ANYTHING close to the CFB you have watched and loved
this is a slippery *** slope we're on with the sport we fckn love and the brain trust involved i wouldnt trust to boil water
Hmmmm. This "**** show" isn't happening in the NFL?? Really? How many players in the NFL are holding out with time left on their contract..?I agreed w/ u until u said the current model is better than the last. So let’s say Cam says today “U know what Miami, the NFL have seen enough game film of me that I’m going to sit out the remainder of our games unless u up my NIL which is more today than we agreed upon”, u good w/ that system?
The problem w/ extremist views is that it negates whatever message u’re trying to send. Some were vehemently against NIL (wanting the old guard), while others like myself were in favor w/ NIL, but wanted guidelines so it doesn’t become a pandora box filled w/ slippery slopes.
The extremist are like, “Fck it, baybay! Down w/ the man, let’s get everyone paid. Let the boosters control the market, yee haw!” as they pop their guns in the air screaming Amistad. Until, they r now realizing those bullets r making their way back down furiously b/c NO ONE THOUGHT THIS THROUGH INCLUDING THE LEGAL SYSTEM.
Again, this **** show is not happening at the NFL. The entire system is broken, & eventually it will turn off fans just like the NBA have turned off fans w/ their “load management” for guys making $60m/yr, and the lack of competition. So yes, the NCAA needs to be limited in their oversight, which I believe should be academics, only, at the FBS level, but FBS need real structure including:
-Shared revenue (w/ a cap)
-Scholarship language change (more in line of a contract)
-Portal revisions
-NIL from commercial deals independent of any collectives associated or a quasi representative of a School, & if collectives do offer NIL, negations happen ONLY after a student enrolls
-Fines for tampering to entice transfers/portal entries including reduction of scholarships, and/or bowl eligibility
-A commissioner in place either as an individual or a collective body to oversee FBS
-Reduce FBS teams, and place teams in regional quads
-Academic requirements still determines eligibility
The NCAA can handle FCS, DII, NCAAB, WCBB, College Baseball & all its awards Nat’l Championships the way it wants, but FBS need change, IMMEDIATELY.
Sorta like players the NFL that aren't honoring their written contracts? There’s a reason why it’s called a written contract! It stands alone it don’t need no words spoken!
And honesty from nfl players holding out for a better contractYou can't demand honesty from people, come on, where are we?
And the signed contract in the NFL but players will year left on their contract are holding out for more moneySeems obvious the kid's agent is to blame.
The collective has no signed contract.
The kids dads is only talking about verbal deals.
Not sure I trust the kids dad too much either. His comment about having many other deals 5xs more than the UNLV deal sounds like total BS. No agent would allow the kid to go to a school for 5 times less with no signed contract,
This comparison absolutely makes no sense. It would be accurate if a NFL team refuses to pay a player despite a contractual agreement. And honesty from nfl players holding out for a better contract
You made multiple posts displaying the same nonsense. I'd delete them if I were you, before everyone can see stupidity live.Hmmmm. This "**** show" isn't happening in the NFL?? Really? How many players in the NFL are holding out with time left on their contract..?
The free market will sort this out.
Hmmmm. This "**** show" isn't happening in the NFL?? Really? How many players in the NFL are holding out with time left on their contract..?
I guess the free market can also say "no".
1. UNLV lied to the kid. 2. UNLV are the dumbest mother****ers for rejecting free money from A CASINO TO DEAL WITH A SITUATION THEY ****ED UP IN THE FIRST PLACE.And what's your point?
The kid didn't get what he wanted and left. UNLV has even right to decline. I have no issue with that.
There's a chance no one else wants to deal with this QB and he's left hanging out to dry.
The free market works both ways.
Lol at placing "caps" on kids while the highest paid state employees are coaching a GAME. It's literally a GAME.
I always thought Southern Cal WAS a blue blood program. I know they’re private, but still…I, personally, am looking forward to the day that Miami, Southern Cal, and SMU are annually kicking the teeth out of the “blue blood” programs.
People forget SMU has a decent history of being a successful program. That death penalty wiped out A LOT.I always thought Southern Cal WAS a blue blood program. I know they’re private, but still…

Get what you’re saying but if I remember correctly certain companies are unable to offer NIL deals1. UNLV lied to the kid. 2. UNLV are the dumbest mother****ers for rejecting free money from A CASINO TO DEAL WITH A SITUATION THEY ****ED UP IN THE FIRST PLACE.
NO ONE and I repeat NO ONE will have any interest playing for UNLV or negotiating NILs after this entirety of a ****show. They're getting roasted to oblivion.
They did. UNLV said no.Get what you’re saying but if I remember correctly certain companies are unable to offer NIL deals
I would guess a gambling company would be one especially one with potential mafia ties
I haven't seen if he's responded but I don't think @Rellyrell is against the concept of NIL. I think his objections were that it went live without guardrails or any rubric, and he voiced concerns over what it would quickly turn into.@Rellyrell you in here getting pack out man fight back ......
I do remember you was against NIL too....
