Unfortunate Injuries for Spring

I thought Bolden was a full go for Spring?? EXTREMELY disappointing Bolden and Brooks aren't a full go for Spring ball. They need the reps. Nobody on this team is in "Rest up young fella'. We know what you can do. See you in the Fall" bucket. Everyone needs to be out there if they can walk straight. This is a 6-7 squad. They all need to go out there and prove themselves like they are Tr-Fr.

Especially anyone who is on offense. This is a brand new scheme. Everyone needs as many reps as possible. Wasn't Brevin out last Spring too??? Sheesh.

RB Don Chaney

OL Navaughn Donaldson

TE Brevin Jordan

WR Michael Redding

LB Sam Brooks
LB Tirek Austin-Cave
LB Corey Flagg
LB Bradley Jennings

S Bubba Bolden (maybe not for all of spring)

Really sucks that both EE LBs will not be competing and Brooks

I didn't know we had that many.

It crossed my mind that we shoot horses when legs get busted . . . what kinda injuries they got?

Bolden has to be ready by spring.

what was the full extent of his injury? Was it a dislocation and break? Does he have screws in there now?

I broke my leg and dislocated my ankle in high school and it sidelined me for a very long time. I’m sure his medical treatment is way more advanced than mine but he could have a 8 month or more recovery timeframe

No, Diaz expects him back sometime this spring the way he talked about it today. He’s already been cleared for weight room work. Diaz expects him to be able to compete in practice this spring

I can see joyner being a surprise player at LB if he can stay healthy. Hopefully Steed can just contribute at this point.

There is too much speed and potential on defense to not get creative with the personnel, especially with Bolden and Hall entrenched at safety.

Carter should get a look at WLB. He's already displayed natural ability as a blitzer from that position and he's our hardest hitter. Striker is asked to cover quite a bit and that's not necessarily him imo.

MLB Z. McCloud | P. Joyner | B. Jennings | C. Flagg

WLB A. Carter | A. Huff | S. Brooks | W. Steed

STRK G. Frierson | K. Smith | Cave

CB D. Ivey | T. Couch | M. Clarke

CB A. Blades | C. Williams | I. Dunson

SS B. Bolden | J. Harrell | B. Balom

FS G. Hall | A. Williams | K. Washington

Lol when did cave and flagg get injured ?

Smfh
They were probably already knicked up from HS, then once they got on campus they were medically evaluated & the staff decides to hold them out of Spring practices as a precautionary measure.

The thing is, a lot of times when they tell us it's not a big deal & they're just going to be out for a little while it usually ends up extending longer than expected.

If they're holding all these guys out in Spring I wouldn't be shocked if they missed time in Fall too, NOT SAYING they will, just saying that's how things often happen with injuries on this team. For whatever reason the initially reported small little injuries that shouldn't last long always seem to linger for months & months on end with this team.

It's something I've still yet to understand about the Richt/Diaz regime, the slightest injuries just never go away.
