Underrthrow Beck

Saw he was double covered and knew it was no chance ball was coming to him. Little did he know...
Didn’t help he decided to get away from his game

Dude has not been able to hit the go ball… in the biggest moment he decides to go for it.

You haven’t been that guy Beck…. Cam ward with that deep ball with touch? All day… Beck nah dawg hit Toney crossing the middle at the **** 25

Needed to go 10 yards to a dependable middle target there. Get inside the 25 with 40 seconds lefts and plenty of time.
Rewatch… Toney was crossing the middle perfectly at like the 25. Run up and spike it you have 3 shots at good range for a TD to win it

Instead he tries the hero throw that he hasn’t been hitting at all

He should never had thrown it. It would an obvious cover 2. He had the middle of field options. With first down at their 42 with 48 seconds to go it was foolish.

The entire playoffs Miami just needed Beck to manage the game and not turn the ball over and he accomplished that in spades. Good on him. Miami won games with defense and doing just enough on offense. ST has been generally terrible, but the defense was usually able to work around missed FGs. Toney's mental mistake to field the ball at the 5 was enormous. And then of course Bauman missing the block. But the punter was at the back of the end zone because of the poor decision to field the punt. Miami's formula was working up to that point. Keep it close, play defense, win at the end.

I think Dawson did a good job of making sure Beck didn't get greedy and that limited his mistakes. Dawson's "mistake", if you want to call it that, was giving Beck the opportunity for that deep route option in cover 2, and giving him the discretion to throw it. Marion is a decoy to open up the underneath routes (which worked). But Beck has to be told and has to know- don't risk throwing homerun ball unless Marion is completely wide open (like we saw in the Ole **** game where there wasn't a defender within 15 yards). The entire playbook is open at 1st and 10 from the 20 with 40 seconds left. Just a horrendous decision by Beck. Indy knew exactly what eye candy to throw at Beck on defense to get him to take that shot.

I need to find some fulfillment in my life and stop living and dying with what 19 and 20 year olds do on a football field. Good night since I still have to get up and go to f%& work where there are no cheerleaders waiting to suck my d#&.

He just hasn’t had the same arm strength that he did at Georgia, that surgery took alot from him. Also maybe got fooled by the coverage there but if you have enough arm u maybe could fit it

If he got to his next progressions he would have saw bauman coming open in the middle

I don't think that the defender was beat. I think he knew that he had help deep and did his job and stayed underneath.
Beck should have checked it down; but in this instance should have thrown it to the pylon as has been said tonight ad nauseum. Either Marion catches it, or it is second and ten.

Corner is in trail but the safety is late. I’m not sure if Beck was throwing back shoulder expecting single high or just threw a horrible ball?

I rewatched it multiple times. Horrible throw. Underthrown and needed to over the shoulder to the pylon.

Too long to read the whole thread but Keenan Marion admitted he never looked for the ball.
