No conflict of interest here. Nope. No hazard to NCAA eligibility here. Nope. No ulterior motives here. Nope. Just a community philanthropist as pure as they come.

But Jon Vilma ain't never cared bout nobody but himself!

there are things to get upset at luke about,, this is not one

Oh no? So you separate him from his wife's agency......as he actively PUBLICLY promotes it? What's he doing privately then?

And spare me any mention of Duke's new contract. A retarded emu could've negotiated that one.

The market for running backs is going to reset next year with Leveon Bell and David Johnson being UFA’s among others. Interesting to see how this contract will look in a year’s time

Duke's Cleveland's 2nd best player on offense and is only 24. Likely has 6-8 more years on his career if he stays healthy. That contract was a given.

Beat it Pfenny. Your attention to detail and cognizance of future markets ain't welcome here.

I think Duke will have been compensated "fairly". The RBs you mention are top 5 RBs in the league and every down backs. Duke's not the same type of back. Having said that, Luke trying to boast about this contract that Duke got is just funny.

He’s definitely not in the same realm, but the position is gaining value again and the top guys making a big jump will lead to increases to the tiers below. But look at Jerick McKinnon who isn’t as good as Duke and just signed a 4 year $30mil deal with 12 guaranteed at signing with the 49ers

I completely forgot about Jerick McKinnon's contract. And you're right about the RB position regaining a modicum of its past value.

I think I'll re-adjust my statement on Duke getting compensated fairly, considering he's just north of $7 mil guaranteed.

His contract actually isn't that impressive now thinking about it again.

It’s still a lot of money and I’m very happy for him and his family, but IMO they weren’t very smart how they went about this extension

This is a joke. For those of you who dont see private motive dressed up as some sort of "social justice cause" you are the reason why society is stagnant in this cycle of none progression. As if giving more money to the Luke family is gonna change violent crime in the inner city. Hes gonna buy his peewee team new unis, give away a couple of turkeys at thanksgiving, n stack the rest. Social justice my *** hes a carpetbagger on the Al Golden level.

He’s a total fraud and uses the athletes and school for his personal gain. If the school crosses him or restrict his deceitful enterprise, he trashes the school with racial inferences. Dislike guys like him as it weakens the message we try to show our white brothers.

You’re making some excellent analytical and comparative points about his contract, as well as a nice job in projecting out a couple of years. Something a competent agent should do.

I was only half kidding about hoping Duke didn’t sign over POA for managing his finances to them. I know you’re just starting out in the biz, but is this common? What is the extent of the financial relationship? How deep could it be?

We’ve all heard the horror stories - not on them specifically, but others. While many agents just manage the negotiation part, there are a small percentage who have stolen everything from their clients. I’m not saying that will happen here, but just your thoughts on how common is a deep financially entangled relationship between agents and clients.

Just a general rule of thumb that cuts across all political/racial/socio-economic lines- ALWAYS be leery of anyone draping themselves in a cause....that gets a cut as a result of said cause or from money supposed to assist said cause.

If Puke was the Patron Saint of The Hood and his wife this wildly successful attorney that he claimed she was then they'd have no reason to be profiting at all here. She'd do these contracts for free or they'd donate their % to actual charity.

The majority do not have actual wealth management as part of their practices but refer players to wealth managers that are certified with the league. What some agents have gotten into trouble with are referring players to their buddies or acquaintances who are getting involved certain investment deals that end up losing it all. Personally I think they should be two separate entities as a way to balance each other

Write your reply...Good job Luke. We need to support our own, and stop looking for other people that only want to exploit and use us. He's a cunning man. He builds relationships with the kids when they're young so that they can sign with his wife when they come of age. Hats off to Luke. You've come a long way bro.

Lots of Uncle Puke defenders are missing the key point here.

When someone WHOSE WIFE ISN'T AN AGENT does this stuff, he gets indicted.

If people can't connect the dots between this guy helping at the lower level, while advertising for people to sign his wife as their agent...

Come on, this stuff is getting out of hand.
