Herm Edwards would have been a great fit at FSU

I don't know what they reflect considering I don't know any of the UT boosters. Do you?
I know what the current demographic in Austin is heavily slanted towards, and I know from the articles I read about the Charlie Strong hire that the people actively working to sabotage Strong from the day he got hired were nothing like that demographic.

He turned WKU from a doormat to a respectable program.

His USF rebuild culminated into a 10 win season.

Oregon had the #6 recruiting class in Country when He left, before they were in the mid 20's.

IDK what happened at FSU, but the guy had a track record at turning programs around.

All that to say he’s had one good season in a career with a losing record

17 million to get out of a meat grinder and he will probably end up a some smaller school at a mill or two a year as a coach...he landed on his feet
Set for life...if he were a typical pro athlete though he might blow through it in a year or two.

I’m African American and this is bull****. Race has nothing to do with this **** Luke needs to go sit down somewhere The man got a buyout of about 18 million I don’t feel bad for him at all. And as an African American when you get a job like FSU you better believe I’m gonna equip myself with the best dam staff of coaches I can get because I know my *** got a short period of time to turn it around. The talent was there and he didn’t get it done. Some of his losses were inexcusable. That defense was atrocious and their is an obvious lack of discipline which is evident by the numerous penalties and constant jawing for no reason when your getting your *** kicked.

Luke is a self serving shlt stirrer, but this firing smacks of old south cronyism and humiliation.

What possible difference could firing Willie now, vs waiting a couple of weeks for the season to end?

Race may have had nothing to do with him getting ultimately fired, but the timing of his firing is another matter.
I agree. I think they should have waited.

There might be something else going on...the administration might have been upset over the behavior of the team which suggested Willie had lost total control over the team. The university might have wanted to nip it in the bud.

We don't know everything.

In my opinion, the most likely scenario is that the big money boosters drove this. It seems the most obvious thing.

As in, “do you want us to kick in for his buyout? Then you better fire him right now, or maybe we don’t bring in that money at the end of the season.“

I think they just wanted to humiliate him, to be honest.

Nothing to be gained by firing him now, other than to just humiliate a man.

I guess all boosters are supposed to be lock in step with each other. From what I read, his hiring was questionable due to his lack of networks in the state of Texas. It's evident his networks in Florida were stronger. Was he given a short lease? Yes. Would I have called for his firing if I was a booster? Yes. So that brings me to this question. If you donated thousands of dollars every year to the AD and the particular college football coach for that specific college was not producing, would you call for his firing?

this is 1 time where i agree with luke and i hope he keeps this up.....i think he needs to say more on the subject.
Could you see any hope of Willie Taggart turning the culture of that god awful selfish team around if he was given another 3 years? If the answer is no, inevitably it's not about race. I don't care what color he is, the writing was on the wall early he was in over his head. He was more concerned with dancing than discipline. This was the right move for them and it has NOTHING to do with race. I'm trying to be open minded and see others view of this, I just can't see where this has anything to to with being a victim of race. Just my opinion.

Go Canes!
