Refs should have stopped the clock when the QB didn't get the first down and a defensive player picked up the ball and ran 15 yards down the field. That had to take off at least 5 seconds.

Eh probably but Howell ran twice with no timeouts and didn't get the first down or get out of bounds. Should have thrown the ball away. Crazy this happens when you let the clock run like that.
